At the center of the ever-deepening mystery of Norman Hsu, the fugitive fund-raiser who was captured after a brief flight from the law last week, is the question of how he evolved from a bankrupt swindler in 1992 to a wealthy donor to many Democratic candidates, and a bundler of campaign contributions to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2007.
A review of financial records for one of Mr. Hsu’s companies begins to shed light on some of his recent activities, including his dealings with a circle of campaign contributors that has fallen under suspicion since news of Mr. Hsu’s criminal past, murky business interests and unexplained riches rocked the Democratic Party.
The records show that Components Ltd., a company controlled by Mr. Hsu that has no obvious business purpose and appears to exist only on paper, has paid a total of more than $100,000 to at least nine people who made campaign contributions to Mrs. Clinton and others through Mr. Hsu. The payments occurred in the spring of 2003, several months before Mr. Hsu emerged as a contributor to Democrats and more than a year before he started bundling checks from those same people for various campaigns. In all, he has raised more than $1 million for Democrats.

I read this article in the SJ Mercury News today. It is very deficient in that it doesn’t even conjecture where the money originated and what it means for our nation if the Chicoms are influencing our elections.

Many “HillRaisers” — people who rustle up at least $100,000 for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign — are dwarfed beside Mr. Hsu (pronounced “Shu”). Several people involved in Democratic presidential fund-raising say Mr. Hsu, an apparel executive, has raised well over $1 million for the New York senator’s presidential campaign, making him one of the top 20 Democratic fund-raisers in the country. The Clinton campaign doesn’t disclose such details and declined to comment for this story.

We must ask the question: Is this Chinese trying to BUY the Klintons (again) or is this the Chinese PAYING BACK the Klintons???
IMHO, the Chinese got what they wanted/needed via BJ, and this is BJ's price-tag.
Looks like bundlers need to be a thing of the past. Their only role seems to be laundering contributions and, at least in the eyes of the MSM, giving candidates plausible deniability. Let there be only direct, fully disclosed contributions so that the candidates have the responsibility to know their contributors and everything is out in the open. We will know who is influencing whom.

Are these donations possibly an advance payment for future technology secrets. The Chi-Coms are very anxious to get a Clinton back in the White House. As soon as the Clintons return. Our national defense secrets are out the window. I keep wondering why with all of the Democrats involved in this scandal not one has yet mentioned the original victims of Norman Hsu. Mr.Hsu bilked a number of innocent victims out of their savings in an investment scheme. Yet the money hungry Democrats who eagerly acccepted his contributions chose to return the money to their favorite charities. No mention of the original victims. Where is the list of charities who knows. But you can bet the Dems will take credit for such wonderful charitable donations. Maybe the courts should have seized this money to get it back in the proper hands.

My question was more rhetorical. The press is reporting the dirty deeds of Hsu when the real question is why does Hilary (and the other Dims) attract this crowd.
W/o asking Hilary and the others, it makes it easy for Hilary, etc. to simply blow this off as the deeds of others. There is a connection here. Culture of corruption anyone?
