The highest risk factor for physical abuse? mommy has a new boyfriend.

Mommy obviously isn't too worried about baby. That's called endangerment. As with male/female domestic abuse, male violence isn't more prevalent, its more damaging, due to strength and weight.

when you factor in abortion - you are correct.

I think I'm correct without abortion. Men who throw their babies on the ground get prison, babies that accidentally drown, smother, take poison or fall while with the mother are accidents. As is born out with suicides, males choose more blunt violence, while women prefer non-bloody options.

With parental kidnapping, I would remind you that it is nearly impossible for a father to get primary custody, and when he does so it is due primarily to a very abusive mother.

Who is more likely to kidnap, rape, murder a child at random? A male. Who is best equipped to protect a child? A male.

When I was younger I was well aware that meeting me on a deserted street at night was a scary experience for a young woman. I would cross the street away from her to make her more comfortable. That said, I also knew that I was her best defense at that particular moment. And there was one particular time in my early twenties when I'm quite certain that my pulling over to help saved a woman from being assaulted, and she had three children with her.

Unless you have a way of avoiding the entire male population, I think it advisable to promote greater interaction with the good guys (the vast majority). I very much doubt that a preditor wants to deal with a father, husband or boyfriend, let alone several of them.

“Mommy obviously isn’t too worried about baby. That’s called endangerment. “

true.
The level of stupidity can be astounding.

“babies that accidentally drown, smother, take poison or fall while with the mother are accidents. As is born out with suicides, males choose more blunt violence, while women prefer non-bloody options”

babies also accidentally drown, smother, and take poison or fall while they are with their fathers too.
Do you have any reason to believe that children have these accidents more so when they are with mom? (other than the obvious that most single moms have custody)
Do you have evidence that accidents are not accidents?

“Unless you have a way of avoiding the entire male population, I think it advisable to promote greater interaction with the good guys (the vast majority).”

I do that with my boys! I never said people shouldn’t.
My point was not male bashing, my point was that the media is being blamed for a problem that was created in the first place by perverts and thugs.
The automatic reaction here is to blame women.

SampleMan, you sound like a MAN. God bless you.

In time of trouble, men are women's friends most of the time. MEN. Women who grew up comfortable with boys and men understand how priceless, how invaluable, how necessary to survival real MEN are.

I suggest that women who grew up comfortable with boys and men are also most likely to put-down or deflect most male predators because they see men more on the level, rather than through glasses of fear. And it starts in girlhood -- Scotswife, your line of thinking does untold ill to girls and women.

Two silly 14-year-old girls (redundant, I know) have befriended two 14-year-old boys at a mountain summer lake over the course of five or six days. The four decide to go on a mini-hike away from the lake, and a fair distance from the lake, one of the boys suddenly pulls out a knife and instructs the girls to take their clothes off.

The girl who fears "penises" becomes like jelly. The girl who grew up around and loving boys and men looks at the kid with the knife, basically tells him, "In your dreams, pal," grabs girlfriend, and heads back to the lake. That's as far as it goes -- one more adventure over a pretty neat summer, from the teen girls' point of view.

Boys will be boys and the bad ones eventually get their asses kicked by the good ones, God willing. You thank God for the good ones like SampleMan, and remember they come in all shapes and sizes -- just because a guy is a sissy tenderfoot doesn't mean he isn't a man. Men are our only protectors in civilization. Women must love and trust men as we expect men to love and trust us.

One reason that male violence in domestic situations is more widely reported is that police and prosecutors are trained to automatically assume the male is the perpetrator. I could go on for hours about that mindset, and the BS arrests, bookings and prosecutions it caused.
