Depends on what you'll accept as evidence. If we assume that the mother's who finally get arrested after the child dies or subsequent children have similar numerous accidents were also responsible for the earlier "accidents" then its supportable. Like I said, violent men leave less doubt and tend to run, vice cry victim.
My wife is an ER physician and the bulk of the child endangerment, outright abuse that she sees is the result of the mother or female relative. The rapes are from males. As you say, usually mommy's new boyfriend. Who mommy is no doubt attracted to due to his hyper-sexual nature and lack of selectivity.
My point was not male bashing, my point was that the media is being blamed for a problem that was created in the first place by perverts and thugs. The automatic reaction here is to blame women.

Without the political female influence, I think you would find male justice on such perps to be far harsher than is currently the case. Perhaps that is something to ponder? Are they high recidivism rates do to misplaced mercy by the female population?
I would certainly prioritize pedophiles for the death penalty over murderers. Murderers may never kill again.
