Herndon sends 13 inmates to be deported (VA)
The Examiner ^ | 9/8/07 | William C. Flook

Herndon officials turned over 13 inmates to Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the two months since the town began the federal partnership in June, police said Friday.

Town police processed the inmates under the controversial 287(g) program, offered through ICE to allow local police to initiate the first stages of deportation proceedings for illegal aliens arrested on other charges.

"Based on these initial results, the program is doing exactly what it is designed to do -- giving our officers another tool in their efforts to remove criminal illegal aliens from our community," Herndon police chief Toussaint E. Summers Jr. said in a statement.

Despite the announcement of the results, Herndon officials would offer no details of the identities of the inmates, what they were charged with, or what happened to them once they were turned over to federal authorities.

...snip...

Chris Newman, legal programs coordinator for the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, called 287(g) a "horribly misguided policy" that will be a hindrance to local policework.

"One can already see the sort of witchhunt mentality that is under way," he said. "It makes law enforcement more difficult when people are afraid of coming forward to report crimes because they feel they'll be discriminated against because of their immigration status."

287(g) in da' house! Granted, there's no mention of actual deportations and the numbers are small, but it's a start.

WE are the American People.

We have woken up.

And we are setting things straight, one community at a time. Get out of the way the train, or you will be run over. You cannot stop it now.

That whine is getting a bit sour. The FIRST crime that was committed is when the illegal jumped the fence or swam the river. This BS about "living in the shadows" and “afraid of reporting crimes” is a non-issue. If they are "living in the shadows" (puke) there would not be millions of them marching in the streets. They are not being "discriminated against" because of their immigration status because they have no immigration status. Being an illegal alien in the US is a CRIMINAL STATUS.

Jumping a fence or swimming a river in the middle of the night is NOT immigration.

National Day Labor Organizing Network Assaults American Citizens

Published by The Watchdog May 12th, 2007 in Protests & Activism, Pro-Illegal Groups.

Members of the National Day Labor Organizing Network led the attack on Save Our State members at a day labor center in Harbor City, CA.

SOS members were there to hand out fliers and encourage employers to hire legal workers at a nearby temporary employment service when they were assaulted.

The National Day Labor Organizing Network has been training day laborers on how to circle SOS members and assault them and make it difficult to capture on videotape.

SOS members were punched and kicked repeatedly by hoards of day laborers. Members of the National Day Labor Organizing Network also participated in the violence.

"The FIRST crime that was committed is when the illegal jumped the fence or swam the river.."

NOT according to Rudy, the Magnificent, entering this country without permission, visa, green card nor passport IS NOT A CRIME!!!

He welcomed them in NYC, and declared that he wanted them to "get their children into schools."

That's the flaw in the liberal logic; you don't HAVE to deport all of them, just enough to tip the balance. Dry up the job market and watch them self-deport.

Chris Newman is an idiot. They are the criminals, they aren't about to turn themselves or their family members in.

The only thing that makes law enforcement more difficult is traitors like Chris Newman. If anything it makes law enforcement easier because it unclogs the system by processing these illegal alien criminals and deporting them back to their own country- probably by handing them over to the jailers in the country they came from.

We are on borrowed time. If we don’t do something substantial to not only stop but to repel this invasion we are finished as a free nation, and will become a balkanized house of chaos.

Well NEWMAN here's a clue. If the US gubmint doesn't start taking the concerns of us U.S. Citizens serious - and fast - you ain't seen nothing yet buster.

Just one more drunk Illegal killing a family, just one more illegal gang banger killing an innocent child in a drive by, just one more illegal executing a US Citizen in cold blood, just one more Illegal pervert sexually violating a child and then the lid's off you seditious bastard.

Furthermore NEWMAN that 'just one more' point is approaching fast. As a wise man, and U.S. Icon, once said...

I've had all I can stand, I can't stands no more!

This was also realized by a sworn enemy of the USA when he said ...

"I fear that we have awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve."

So keep enabling these scum bag criminals you commie puke. You and your ilk will feel the wrath too. The clock is ticking......

(no threat, just a prediction of coming events)

Don't they just drop them off at the nearest Home Depot/ 7-11 day labor site?

Rudy is talking about being present in the country illegally. According to the Congressional Research Service:

Unlawful presense is only a criminal offense when an alien is found in the United States after having been formally removed or after departing the U.S. while a removal order was outstanding.

Congressional Research Service on Criminalizing Unlawful Presence in U.S.

The actual act of crossing the border is a separate matter. If an alien is nabbed there, he can be charged with a misdemeanor on the first offense. But as the CRS explains, this is rarely done because of the burden it would place on resources of the criminal justice system.

Deportation hearings are civil, not criminal, proceedings. It would be much harder, slower, and more expernsive to deport people if they were criminal proceedings.
