Avery Knapp is typical of the Paul Web supporter. A 28-year-old radiology resident, Knapp describes himself as a lifelong conservative who voted for President Bush in 2000 before growing disillusioned with the Iraq war and federal spending.
Bush "did nothing but increase the size of government. The Republican Party needs to move back to its core principles," Knapp said. Many Paul supporters share Knapp's disdain for what he called a "neo-conservative clique" and hope Paul can spark a Goldwater-style insurgency.
At 46, Kevin Leslie has never bothered with politics. After watching an interview with Paul during his 1988 campaign as candidate for the Libertarian Party, Leslie told himself, "If this guy ever runs for president again, I'll back him."
Paul did, and Leslie was good to his word, starting a prominent Paul blog in February and traveling to the recent straw poll in Ames, Iowa.

Let us always be in gratitude to the fact that FR is the greatest website on the planet to distribute the message of freedom. No place upon geographical earth, nor in the world wide web offers safe haven to freedom minded folks except FreeRepublic.com. If there is another such site, I’ve never discovered it in all of my ventures.
This is a freedom site. Never lose sight of that. Sure the demos and neocons are here. There’s not much anyone can do about that beyond what is already being done. These sociialsits are free to post like the rest of us. It is our duty to stand them down. I accept that obligation with determination.
Bingo!
Then take your pick.
According to Ron Paul, nobody should be shot..
Btw, would you die for America?
God knows I hate government suck-ups. They strain my patience.
Used to be able to rationally debate conservative principals here...now somehow...war is considered a conservative principal here? I always considered the democrats to be the party of nation building wars. And I never thought I would see Republicans pushing fear fear fear all the time. Are they such cowards?
I served. Did you?
“According to Ron Paul, nobody should be shot..”
THAT is an ABSOLUTE lie. But if you believe it to be so, please provide your evidence. Otherwise, I shall await your retraction... of course, I won’t hold my breath... you anti-paulites NEVER apologize for the lies half-truths, distortions and sheer fabrications you spew forth.
Ron Paul also served.
Did you?
No, I didn't serve in the Military. And yes, I do pay my taxes, and vote.
How is this question relevant?
THAT is an ABSOLUTE lie.
Has Ron Paul advocated protecting America in such a way that
might, say, maybe cause our Soldiers to shoot somebody?
For my money, no one who did NOT serve should either have the vote or be able to run for public office. Sure we’d have skerry, but it would weed out those who most often had “better” things to do than show graphically their willingness to put their lives on the line to protect their fellow Americans. And the question KDD asked is highly relevant because of the one you asked him: Would he be willing to die for his country, something YOU apparently weren’t willing to do yourself. And for the record, I spent over 22 years serving.
An insulting question...You think killing someone is like a video game probably...The men who died in Vietnam are the only ones who found any peace from that war...The ones who came home from killing other men will always live with the hell.
You go on and pay your taxes and vote. Some young 18 or 19 year old man in Iraq today felt the gall rising in his throat with the realization that he had just killed another man...So don't make light of War. It's a hell of a lot more then just a slogan...But enough of you. You and those like you disgust me.
Most assuredly he has. What he advocates is a proper Congressional Declaration of War before we go off to fight... because if congress isn’t willing to totally commit the country to fighting to win a war, then why ever should we want to get involved in one???
I agree...Be nice if the CIC was required to have his combat ribbon.
It might slow down the rush to War.
No, you "feeel" the gull. And by reading your responses I get the impression that
you could care less about our American deaths in Iraq, or anywhere else.
So don't make light of War. It's a hell of a lot more then just a slogan...
But enough of you. You and those like you disgust me.
You Disgust me also. You refuse to support America first.
I "thank you" for serving our country.
I "do not" thank you for using your service to make political points.
End..
So a Dem/Liberal run congress and Senate is enough to "NOT" protect America?
I wonder if any of the anti-Paul big government Republicans have ever even read the Constitution. How about starting with the 10th Amendment.

I know it’s an inconvenient document these days, but it bears a review every once in a while to see how far we have steered off course.
Whatever...vomit would have been more descriptive anyway.
You Disgust me also. You refuse to support America first.
I pay my taxes and vote just like you do...that is the extent of your support of America first. If you lived near me I'd take you over to Bay Pines VA Hospital to visit some of our returning young men. Lots of amputees coming back from this one. Those guys are running into crap over there that make the old "bouncing betties" look like firecrackers.
I "do not" thank you for using your service to make political points
You gave that opening with your "Btw, would you die for America?" question of my patriotism.
Insults are what you wish? Are you foolish enough to accuse the tax payers
of America that they mean nothing but Taxes?
I "am" them Taxpayers. And so are they, "Americans".
How dare you declare that you are better then any American!
