I admire your loyalty, too. But the ticket must first get elected. Thompson — who has recognition even amongst the non-political, and a folksy charm the Democrats can’t even approach — is a perfect Reaganseque candidate. Hunter is the guy who knows the in’s and out’s of what needs to be done.
Thompson-Hunter is the most perfect ticket I can imagine. And don’t give me any guff about how a Vice President doesn’t have any pull. I know Dick Cheney.
Ditto...except for one thing. As far as I’m aware, no ticket with a sitting member of the Regress as VP candidate has ever won, certainly not since 1900.
