Ron Paul is Censored by Fox News According to Online Analysis
Trans World News ^ | 9/5/2007 | USA Election Polls

(FReeper thread from earlier today: Ron Paul Will Win Debate But Be Discredited)
[FOX News just declaired Ron Paul the winner in tonights debate....but Ron Paul's win has been discredited by Hannity]

Now to the article......:

Washington D.C.:

An analyst at USAElectionPolls.com has recently published the frequency the top news sources mention each of the Republican candidates. As expected, the top tiered candidates were mentioned most often but by how much varied.

Their analysis found that the New York Times, USA Today, and CBS News were the fairest of all the news sources analyzed. The biggest "culprit" according to the web site was Fox News -- mentioning the Top 3 candidates almost five times as frequent as all the other candidates combined.

There were 13,000 references to Mitt Romney, 6,570 references to Rudy Giuliani, and 4,060 references to John McCain on the Fox News domain according to the Google searches that USAElectionPolls.com performed. Ron Paul was referenced the least of all candidates - 248 times.

The results suggest that Fox News mentions Mitt Romney in articles more than 50 times as frequent as they do Ron Paul. USAElectionPolls.com calls it "absurd" and continues on to say that in "no other news source is the disparity as large as it is on Fox News".

I was thinking it was like PeeWee Herman in an expensive suit.

There's one FReeper who likes to refer to Ron Paul - in all seriousness - as "that big tall strong musclebound Texan."

I sincerely hope that FReeper is female.

I have noticed the talk show hosts on ABC channels ignoring them and/or making fun of them....including Duncan Hunter, Tancredo, Paul, Huckabee. We are going to have the “pretty boys” forced down our throats by the liberal and our own conservative media because they are undermining the other guys.

To be fair, OP also believes that Ron Paul was a "Vietnam combat flight surgeon."

I don't believe that even Ron Paul is claiming Ron Paul to be anything other than a Vietnam-era flight surgeon.

Perhaps OP could tell us exactly where Paul served in Vietnam and which combat engagements he was involved in.

I thought that JimRob handled the open primary in 2000 almost alone far better than our current mods do

I don't think it's fair to compare the two situations.

In 2000 I can't even remember who else ran. We were too focused on ending the Clinton Administration.

We have a lot of candidates this time and no clear front runner.

The rest of the small Mormon and non-Mormon supporters of Mitt just faded away, sick of the abuse.

Spare us. There are a fair number of Romney supporters who have no problem trashing Fred every chance they get.

This is full-contact sport for now.

Ron Paul should be kicked out of the Republican Party.

If pro-abortionist/homosexual rights/gun control/open borders Giuliani is allowed to run as a Republican, then so can Paul. If flip-flopping pro-abortionist/homosexual rights/gun control/open borders Romney is allowed to run as a Republican, then so can Paul. If stabbing Republicans in the back all the time/open borders McCain is allowed to run as a Republican, then so can Paul. If high taxes/open borders/nanny-state/ Huckabee is allowed to run, then so can Paul.

How about just letting the primaries run their course, and if Paul loses you can laugh at him all you want. But advocating that he be kicked out of the GOP is what liberals resort to when they don't get their way.

dirtboy, everyone feels provoked, that their candidate is trashed. Maybe the Juliebot purge started it, maybe that wasn't altogether wise in hindsight but I think the same would have happened if they were still here. Certainly, the Harpies needed to go, given how much they harmed the forum, made it so unrelentingly hostile to new recruits, etc. Certainly, we still have blatant Juliebots still here anyway. I was just debating a couple of them.

I want and intend to support the eventual GOP nominee provided it isn't a leftwing mayor from New York City. As you well know.

However, in the end, it's not a good idea to form a circular firing squad here at FR. It won't affect the race much if any. It will only hurt our own forum and cause a lot of personal bitterness and personality conflict.

I'd suggest we all spend a little less time pissing in our well. We all have to drink from it after the convention, yah? Or should all those who don't (currently) support your candidate (whoever that is) just opus out of FR?

It’s like having Pat Buchanan’s older, smaller brother in the campaign... after downing a couple Red Bulls.

Ron Paul is the Shemp of the Isolationist Right, while Buchanan is it's Moe..
