Fred was still officially in the Neutral Zone. Don’t the Romulans always attack when the F(r)ederation enters the Neutral Zone? Now the question is whether he’s Picard or Kirk, or at least whether Shatner can loan him a rug. Will the Fred Heads be the star of the red states or will they be wearing red shirts?

Your Romulan is far too elegant. The Vulcans were more stylish by far whereas the Romulans were like a pack of plodding German peasants in comparison.
