His name was Admiral Stockdale. I remember that debate. He had his hearing aide turned down.

He wore a hearing aid as the result of the torture he endured as a POW during the war in Vietnam. The man was one of - if not the - longest serving POW's of that war.

Sadly, he is remembered for a bad TV moment than for the fact that he kept faith with our nation, his fellow prisoners, and the U.S. Navy.
