So, why is Rosie O’Donnell able to adopt kids then?
To: hockeyfan
I wonder what “legal” precedence or law this ruling was based on?

(Thanks Mom for not considering me a "choice".)

If he substituted another vice in place of gluttony he’d be able to adopt immediately.

Did you notice there was no mention of Gary’s wife?
Perhaps Gary is just a Big Fat Queer and that is actully why they will not permit him to adopt.

Too bad the poor guy didn’t say he was queer, then no problem to adopt and abuse a child.

Back in June, the Stocklaufers petitioned to adopt 4-month-old Max, who had lived with them since he was a week old. Given the refernces to "the Stocklaufers" and "them". I would presume form the article that Gary is married.

Maybe someone else has their heart set on adopting the baby.
The judge is acting strangely something must be going on behind the scenes.

I admit that if I were the judge I would be
extremely indisposed to grant an adoption to a 500+lb man (as this man was at the time of the original hearing). I guess it would somewhat depend on his wife's health, assuming she's part of the adoption application.
But apparently the judge let the couple adopt a previous child when the man was at the same weight, and let the couple have custody of this one while the adoption process took place. Assuming there were no problems with either child, I don't see how the judge could reasonably argue that the man was a fit father to the previous child but not this one. What is his right to appeal, if any?

Too bad he wasn’t just a promiscuous homosexual.

500 pounds and probably was on SSI so they would get more government money with more dependents.
Follow the money!

They said it’s his cousin’s son. Is there a healthy closer relative who is getting priority? That would make more sense than saying “you’re too fat”. It could be a matter of “maternal aunt” or “married younger couple who are also cousins” get priority.

From First and Ten:
Over weight guard had to be weighed ever day.
The coach said “These scales only go to 350 pounds.
After that humans leave off and livestock begins.”
His teammates said “MOO”.
