“”How much of the Arnold script is he going to follow?” Probably the part about getting elected.”

Absolutely! That is a trait that too many ‘conservatives’ don’t understand. If only the right-wing kooks would sit back and let us elect a Republican president. They would rather be ‘right’ than promote an electable candidate. The only force that can deter a 2008 Republican victory are the mental midgets with their various litmus tests.

That was worth repeating. ;o)

I think we should learn to separate the campaign from actually governing.
There are plenty of people helping with campaigns with whom I don’t agree politically.
And, there are candidates with whom I agree, but who would be lousy at running campaigns.

The only demand I have is that the candidate set policy, and not his/her campaign staff.

How many times do you figure we’re going to fall for that schtick?

We heard it over and over in 2003, and what was the result in California? A governor even worse than Gray Davis.

I’m not totally ruling out Thompson, as I have ruled out Giuliani, but bringing on Team RINO is not encouraging.

I like to see that kind of commentary. It reminds me of when Hillary and Edwards were discussing the lesser candidates during the debates. If people who stand up for the principles of conservatism are mental midgets perhaps you and your candidate would be more comfortable in another party? Let's get the lesser (lesser according to whom, some poll?) candidates out of the way so we can have our popularity contest and elect the same old same we always have. Message to New Hampshire voters & Fox: I can run a 30 second ad and show up on some liberals talk show, but sorry, can't make it to your little debate. Keep up the arrogant commentary and reinforce the notion that the supporters are as shallow as the candidate.

I agree with you 100%! The idea of being elected seems lost
on some.
