Bill Clinton ruled out running as HRC's VP tonight during a taping of the CBS's LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

Dave: “Now there was a discussion last week, and there is I guess a greater discussion, and there’s some confusion, and maybe I’m the only one confused about the eligibility of a man who has been elected twice as President to possibly be named later on the ticket as Vice President. Constitutionally speaking, can that happen?”
Clinton: “I don’t believe so. There are some people who believe it can, and they have contorted readings of the amendment, the 22nd Amendment. But I believe as a matter of general interpretation, you’re supposed to read all the Constitution including all the Amendments as if they were written almost on the same day at the same moment, so they’re consistent with one another. And the Constitution says the qualifications for Vice President are the same as those for President. Now you can read that to mean ‘to serve,’ not ‘to run for.’ But I just don’t believe it’s consistent with the spirit of the Constitution for someone who’s been President twice to be elected Vice President. I just don’t think it’s Constitutional. I don’t think it’s right and I wouldn’t want to do that. I’d want to do whatever I could do to be of highest and best use for her, but there are lots of wonderful people out there, including all the people that are running this time would be good Vice Presidents. And, that’s just not in the cards.”
He is not eligible. Just why is this news to Liberals?

But he’s right about one thing, he CAN NOT run again, for either office. And for that, America is grateful.

she was “co-president” for two terms. isn’t she precluded from serving a third term? (she was allowed to make proclamations then, she’ll be able to make extra-constitutional proclamations when she gets elected one supposes.)

And besides, Hillary—whatever her other flaws, and they are legion—is not stupid. At least not stupid enough to put Bubba one of her heartbeats away from (a) another shot at the Presidency and (b) the opportunity to date with a clear conscience. Too much temptation.
Let me see, he’s been elected twice and he is from the same state as his wife. Pick a reason why, constitutionally, he can’t be VP.

Dave is what we call a sell out. When Clinton was Rapist-in-Chief, and getting Lewinskys in the Oral Office, Dave was pummeling him on nightly basis. He used to joke about Clinton jogging and his pasty white thighs and how Warren Christopher was mistaken for a yard gnome, and all kind of jokes about the blue dress. But now that Dave has sold out, he just cannot get enough kissing up to the pathetic likes Billy Boy.

Not really - you can’t sell something you never had. Dave is a hard core liberal down to his bitter soul. Just look at his guest list for the past few weeks - every lib / rat needing some public exposure gets a forum, conservatives need not apply. Of course, it can be argued that the kind of folks who still watch Letterman are probably not the most informed voters in the world anyway - such a shame, I can remember a long time ago when Dave was actually funny.
I think the reason former President Clinton wouldn’t want to be Vice President is because his office would be subject to congressional oversight. I don’t see why he couldn’t be just as influential as a non-elected, non-appointed private citizen. When Bill Clinton tells Beijing at a dinner party that they can have Taiwan if they’d just sign President Hillary Clinton’s “Clean Air Treaty of 2010”, they can be confident he’s speaking for the President even if it’s not coming from a formal official.
Letterman obviously thinks all his viewers are. He may be right at that.
I can remember a long time ago when Dave was actually funny.
I would argue that was when he was funny, before he sold out. Dave was from Indiana, a very conservative state and he drew on that upbringing for his humor. Now he has been overtaken by the snobbishness of rich Connecticut elitism. Dave's humor used to be known as irreverent, and he made fun of all the pretense of show business, in a way biting the hand that fed him. At one time, Cher and Oprah publicly declared their dislike of him. That, is a good thing in my book. But no more, he sold out and he has kissed and made up with all that he offended. Late show hosts historically have not been very political. Jack Paar openly disdained politicians by saying he NEVER voted, it only encouraged them. Johnny Carson was able to walk the fine line of staying out of politics, the only exception being, when he understood that JFK was brought down by a conspiracy, and became very cozy with Jim Garrison, and then realized that was not wise career decision or career direction and dropped it like a lead balloon.

Well maybe not US, but the stupes that would vote for “any klintoon” again really are stupid enough to say “AHH, too bad, guess we’ll just have to settle for hitlery”.
That’s funny, so didn’t the Constitution.
