I do not consider that a reasonable request, at all. I consider it mob psychology achieved by deliberate and vicious propaganda. It is this kneejerk censoriousness that many deplore in fundamentalists. You would not want to be treated that way. What I know and you refuse to even entertain is that everything you think you know may be false. Now, that is supposed to be bedrock of American jurisprudence. You have no direct knowledge that he is a sick pervert, so you shouldn’t even say it.
And the problem is that once people have made such public pronouncements, it’s quite difficult to take them back. So, they tend to continue with their original *opinion* even in the face of contrary facts.
