I don't even like this "chase" emphasize....I think a differant format would be better and keep the other racers more competitive....

maybe what should happen is as the season wears on, the point totals go up exponetially to reflex the drivers doing the best as the entire season ends...that way, every driver has a chance at the championship or a least something to try for.....

why limit it to 12 drivers?....think of all the great drivers left out, including Jr.

nice thought cherry but won't work. It de-emphasizes the importance of earlier races. The sponsors of the races would never put up with that.

I say make it the top 20 not 12. That's all the good teams/drivers there are anyway.

I couldn’t agree more... the “chase” is pitiful. I much prefer the old days when the season champion was actually the season champion.

I like that idea better than this chase thing.

Maybe not *exponentially*, though. It could go up 10% each week, though.

The purpose of the Chase is to ensure that there is not a couple of “run-a-way” drivers in the point standings. It compresses the points standing.
