UPDATE: AT&T, NASCAR and Sprint apparently have settled the lawsuit involving the primary sponsorship logos on the #31 Richard Childress Racing Chevy. With NASCAR approval, the AT&T logos were being put on the car of Jeff Burton on Friday afternoon at Richmond International Raceway. “If we don’t make it, I’ll be sad for our fans and sponsors because they’ve been great to me all year, even with everything that’s happened,” he said.
All year . . . everything that’s happened . . .
And you’ll note he didn’t stipulate that it will necessarily be sad for him personally if he doesn’t make the Chase.
“Tired — real tired,” he said of himself last Sunday night at Fontana, Calif., where he didn’t make much headway in the points even though he finished fifth.
