You'd think...although it is hard to get inside such warped minds.
It strikes me that as ineffective as our airport security is, it really would be inpossible to do anything remotely resembling 9/11 on the anniversary. For one thing, all the passengers are real alert and edgy.
Also, I'd think it would be pretty dicey to get a truck bomb into say, DC or Manhattan. Now if you can fit it into a car...not tough at all.
But certain types of attacks are virtually unstoppable at the last moment. (I don't make specific suggestions to terrorists.) Cells can be disrupted during planning, etc. But once you're set to go with a discrete operation, you can do some pretty bad stuff without presenting much of a profile as it is happening, especially if going at heartland targets.
So I'd say that 9/11 would be as easy as any other day as long as we aren't talking jacking more planes or trying to finish the demolition in lower Manhattan.
