Indian Intelligence: Islamic group(s) may try to Bomb Krishna celebrations in India tomorrow

New Delhi/Chennai, Sept. 4 (PTI): With the Intelligence Bureau cautioning that some foreign-based terrorist elements may foment trouble in the coming days, the Centre has alerted all states to keep a tight vigil, especially during the festivals, and monitor crowded places.

A Home Ministry official today said the state governments have been asked to tell their police force to keep a surveillance at religious places or places where there is a large crowd like at markets and shopping malls in view of tomorrow's Janmashthami and Ganesh Chaturthi festival later this month.

Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, is under a tight police cover for the festivities since lakhs of devotees are expected to converge in the temple town tomorrow.

Police Commissioner Nanjil Kumaran told reporters in Chennai that a general alert has come from the Centre's Intelligence Bureau(IB) not only to the Tamil Nadu capital but to all the states about "certain designs by certain terrorist elements based abroad trying to do some kind of an action that they can take up in India."

Kumaran said market places and crowded areas in Chennai are being closely watched.

He also said the City police does not have any specific information about an operative of the Bangladesh-based HuJI hiding in Chennai.

The article meantions HuJI – this is the Harkat-ul-Jihad-i-Islami which was launched in 1980 as part of the Pakistan-based Jehad terrorist movement. Chennai is what use to be Madras, this is one of the hiding places of this group. In Mathura, on Sept 5th (tomorrow in India), there will be big Hindu celebrations for Janmashtami (birthday of Krishna) where children dress as Lord Krishna and his girlfriend Radha and there are other celebrations such as the swing celebration (Krishna on a swing) and such. The Islamic terrorists are regularly causing terror in India, and intelligence in India believes that a Pakistani based Islamic terrorist group is planning to commit another bombing during this festival (either in Mathura, or Vrindavan or other places sacred to Krishna). The likely group was probably behind the recent August 25th twin blasts in Hyderabad India and perhaps linked with Abu Hamza. Two associates of Abu Hamsa are undergoing “narco analysis” testing at the Forensic Science Laboratory, one Imran and Rafi who are arrested in connection with the recent bombings. “42 died” in these bombings, others say more. To understand the horror, and what can happen right here in America if we do not take this war to them, there are videos post-bombing which are both horrific and graphic of the dead and wounded.
