Several beaches along the Jersey Shore were closed Sunday after medical waste and other trash started washing ashore, authorities said.
The source of the waste _ which beachgoers said included syringes, tampon applicators, gauze and other debris _ was not immediately known, and there were no reports of injuries. Most of the waste was found on beaches and in the waters off Monmouth and Ocean counties, authorities said.

Glad it wasn’t Cape May County!!!
Seems like a semi-regular event back there, ??
As the kids love to answer to, "Who did this?"....
Not me!
Always glad to be reminded why I leaving NJ and never returning was a good idea.

I left last year. I did go back and spend a week on LBI. It was clean, fish were jumping and they even let me have a beer.
New Jersey is New York’s garbage dump.
It’s New York’s way of getting back at NJ. NY’rs are just pissed that the light they see at the end of the tunnel is New Jersey.
It was clean, fish were jumping
Ha ha ha....After leaving NJ in 1971 and spending the next 30+ years living in Fairbanks, Sitka, and Juneau, Alaska.......I laugh at your “fish were jumping” line....ha ha ha. But then again, I must be honest and admit that my fishing experiance in NJ was limited to fishing for the wiley and elusive Dundee Canal carp in Passiac when I was but I youth. LOL!
Keep your carp. This is the delicacy here.

LBI. Blue fish and stripers all over the place. It was great.
When I was living in Sitka, even if I could not go fishing, I could leave my office at 4:30, go across the street to the harbor and buy salmon, halibut, crab, rigt off the boats. It was great. For fun, look up halibut, Sitka, barn door.
