Tracking Down the Source of the Slur on Karl Rove - More Newspaper Lickspittle
The Pasadena Pundit - Sept. 3, 2007

The story referenced below in today's Pasadena Star News by author Frank Clark - "With the Rove Family - the father is not like the son" (see here): http://www.pasadenastarnews.com/opinions/ci_6781463) purports to be a first person account that Karl Rove's step-father, Louis Rove, was a body-piercing gay person whom Rove never gave credit for raising and adopting him and insinuates that Rove didn't even show up at his step-father's funeral.
Author Frank Clark purports to have been a visitor in Louis Rove's home in Palm Springs before he died in 2003 from which he learned about his gay identity. But if author Frank Clark knew of Louis Rove's identity since the 2000 Presidential campaign of George W. Bush why did he wait until now to reveal it? The answer might be that author Frank Clark made up the story of visiting Louis Rove's home whole cloth. Frank Clark's story is strangely reminiscent of another unverified account of Louis Rove written by Bob Warburton in 2006 found here: http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Remembering+Louis+Rove-a0156363046
It seems that Frank Clark's first-person account of visiting Louis Rove's home did not come forth until after the release of the book by Wayne Slater, Bush's Brain: How Karl Rove Made Bush Presidential" (published 2004). The primary source for the claim that Louis Rove was gay comes from Karl Rove biographer Wayne Slater of the Dallas Morning News, in his Michael Moore type expose "Bush's Brain: How Karl Rove Made George W. Bush Presidential" (2004). Slater is also co-author in two other hit pieces on Rove: Rove Exposed: How Bush's Brain Fooled America (2005) and "The Architect: Karl Rove and the Dream of Absolute Power," (2007).
And who is Wayne Slater? Slater was the one who started the famous Rathergate phony memo scandal. Slater brought forth Bill Burkett the Texas Army National Guard Lt. Col. Bill Burkett. who, in turn, provided phony documents to Dan Rather's editor, Mary Mapes ? "as a credible witness despite overwhelming evidence that Burkett was a serial liar." Bill Burkett was later discredited by most major news organizations - see here: http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/president/2004-09-21-cover-guard_x.htm
As the website Stingray, a blog, writes:
Wayne Slater is the co-author of "Bush's Brain," a Michael Moore-type expose on how Rove is the evil genius behind the simpleton George W. Bush's rise to power. It was also made into a Fahrenheit 9/11 style movie. If you decide to read the book or see the movie, you'll find tons and tons of evidence scrupulously detailed by the authors. Unfortunately, virtually all of it is circumstantial. It's a book with an agenda, very similar to some of the more bizarre Clinton-is-Antichrist publications that came out during the 1990s."
The claim that Karl Rove's stepfather by adoption was a body-piercing gay person has now morphed into a fact now "documented" in a footnote in Wikipedia (see footnote #4 here- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Rove). This is an example of why Wikipedia has been known to be an unreliable source with a political agenda.
But even Wikipedia states:
"Rove has expressed great love and admiration for his adoptive father and for "how selfless" his love had been."
Wayne Slater's book "Bush's Brain" follows a style of journalism found in the infamous book "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, one of the most notorious works of antisemitic propaganda in modern times, a forgery that claims to describe a secret Jewish conspiracy for world domination.
The story in the Star News by author Frank Clark "With the Rove Family - the father is not like the son" is an example of what Ambrose Bierce in the Devil's Dictionary called newspaper editorial "lickspittle:"
Lickspittle, n. A useful functionary, not infrequently found editing a newspaper. In his character of editor he is closely allied to the blackmailer by the tie of occasional identity: for in truth lickspittle is onlythe blackmailer under another aspect, although the latter is frequently found as an independent species. Lickspittling is more detestable than blackmailing, precisely as the business of a confidence man is more detestable than that of a highway robber; and the parallel maintains itself throughout, for whereas few robbers will cheat, every sneak will plunder if he dare."
Why doesn’t someone go edit the wiki back?
That’s because they were afraid of him and probably still are. Carville doesn’t even come close to Rove. Rove is a genius and any one of those dems would have LOVED to have him on their side while the pubbies and the rest of us would never have wanted carville with us. Jealousy plain and simple.
Pat Buchanan says that Rove was a brilliant tactician but a poor strategist. But Rove wasn’t in charge of (war) strategy.
“Rove is a genius”
lol
True...but even without it Rove was brilliant. Always being nice. Always polite unlike carville and his crowd and the war room is so appropriate for the clintins and the dem/libs cause they are ALWAYS FIGHTING for one thing or another even if it “ain’t broke!!!” They are so shameless...can’t believe they can live with themselves but...if they behave in that manner then I guess it doesn’t matter who they see when they look in the mirror. Better then than us though eh?
Wayne Slater!!
The Dallas Morning News has been on a vendetta against Karl Rove for years.
I collected all the negative articles...all the get-rove pieces they featured over a period of time. Pathetic evidence of their bias when they made their usual claim that they were fair to both sides.
They could never refute the column inches they gave to trying to get Rove compared to any space given to negative dem stories or scandals.
But, guess what? Rather didn’t get Rove and neither did Slater. They are nowhere men now and Rove still rules!
Go Rove.
They are really trying to destract everyone from what is about to happen to Hitlery.

:)
If it's bad for a Republican, it is bad for a Dem. If they report Republican scandals, they must report dem scandals, and for as long and in the same hysterical tone or else they are hypocrites.
Going after the dems is useless, because they have no standards of decency. They are a corrupt party, but the media try to portray themselves as honest and objective. It's time they were called on their hypocrisy.
Reports that Rove’s father was gay are:
1. All anecdotal
2. All by self-identified gays or gay sympathizers
3. All cannot be disconfirmed by Louis Rove because he is dead.
If I claimed that eating ground-up apricot pits cured my father’s cancer and I had an interest in an apricot therapy clinic would you believe me? But editors at newspapers print this stuff then swallow that perchlorate in drinking water results in educational defects in kids which is all based on anecdotal evidence.
Amen.
