I sure there was a conspiracy to under count his votes. *eyes roll*
Well, this thread will generate another round of Paul bashing and mocking of his supporters, thanks to a biased article that only focused on a few nutjobs to portray the Paul campaign as a whole as driven by them. Which is primarily why you posted it.
Proof? Victory is Inevitable!
Can you at least make the flavor tropical punch this time?
SORELOSERPAULS
they sound like fans of the team who just lost their 10th game in a row and blamed it on the officials...
How many times do I have to tell you people, a Libertarian kook is not going to get elected president in our lifetime.
It is tough for folks who are really fired up and animated to realize that although they don’t have vocal opposition, they have opposition none the less.
Quiet reserved attendees able to vote seem to have outnumbered the vocal Paul majority attendees of which a lesser amount were qualified to vote.
I’m not sure how this came to be, but it does look as if out of state support was significant. Perhaps there’s another explanation which hasn’t occurred to me.
All of a sudden straw polls mean something now, since Paul didn’t win it. Remember when Paul came in a strong 5th in Iowa and swept the NH, AL, and WA polls? Those didn’t count, remember?
OMG, it’s Florida all over again!
If you want to spend your free time worrying about a candidate who supposedly "can't win" or is in bed with Al-Qaida, knock yourself out.
I don’t think there’s any need to call Paul a kook or disparage his supporters. That doesn’t carry much weight with me. I do think it is proper to say you can’t support the guy because of a/the specific public comment(s) he has made, or a/the stance(s) you can’t get behind.
Paul isn’t my cup of tea. That doesn’t mean that I don’t think he has offered up some good ideas over time, but as a whole package, I can’t support him.
These threads don’t need to get out of hand. I would hope that this forum’s participants could be more mature than those in 2000 were.
I have been a broken glass republican, but the downward spiral of the past couple of years as far as immigration, expansion of social programs and spending have soured me to the point where only a (hillary!) has me motivated to do some work in 08.
Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter have more chance of being elected POTUS than my cat, but only in part because my cat is not running.
This is going to be a hoot!
Prawn Power !
Dr. Demento, still a shrimp of a candidate.
Some of the comments posted on Paul belong on a Jerry Springer show. I'd never thought that FReepers would sink this low in denigrating someone who has served America both militarily and politically.
The candidate who supports the Constitution the most is ironically denigrated on the very website who's mission is dedicating to preserving it.
It’s too bad the supposed “most Constitutional candidate” believes the document to be a mutual suicide pact.
I have some reservations on his foreign policy. But on all of the other issues he’s 100% correct.
