This lengthy Los Angeles Times investigation of the practice reveals that people who believe in nothing will believe in a feel good solution that doesn't even begin to address the problem they're concerned about, which is totally bogus to begin with since there is NO evidence human activities are a primary factor in climate change.

There are two sad observations one can take from this.

It sounds like there could be a way for someone to make some money off generating a list of Carbon Offset participants.

Just think of the value of having a list of these ignorant folks who would buy into such BS.

Selling a list of their names to every conman, bunco artist, San Francisco bridge seller, etc., could bring in some significant income for a motivated data collector.
