Iraqi Forces, U.S. Special Forces detain 21 terrorists near
Baghdad Multi-National Corps – Iraq PAO

BAGHDAD – Members of 9th Iraqi Army Division detained sixteen suspected al-Qaeda in Iraq terrorists in two separate intelligence-driven raids Sept. 10 and Sept. 11 near Taji.

The targeted individuals are suspected of participating in improvised explosive device attacks against civilians, and Iraqi and Coalition Forces. One suspected terrorist is a known facilitator and manufacturer of vehicle-borne IEDs, while another extremist allegedly supplies weapons to an al-Qaeda in Iraq cell in Taji.

Nine AK-47 rifles with eleven loaded magazines, one anti-aircraft machine gun with a belt of ammunition, and one hand-held machine gun were seized during the raids.

In a separate operation Sept. 11, Iraqi Special Operations Forces detained a Shi’a extremist, who is suspected of using his position in the Ministry of Interior to kidnap and murder Sunni citizens in the Jihad area of Baghdad.

Additionally, the suspected terrorist cell he operates is allegedly responsible for IED and mortar attacks against Iraqi and Coalition Forces in addition to innocent citizens who stand against the group’s criminal activities.

Four AK-47 rifles, one Uzi sub-machine gun, two pistols, one machine gun, and computer equipment were seized while four other individuals, suspected of being linked to his cell, were detained.

U.S. Special Forces were advisers during these operations and there were no Iraqi or U.S. injuries during these raids.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “An Irish ferry last night joined the search for two scuba divers who were reported missing in the sea earlier in the day.

Two lifeboat crews, a helicopter from RAF Chivenor and several pleasure boats were also scouring the coast off Pembrokeshire, west Wales, for the divers.

Jim Phillips of St David’s lifeboat station said: ‘Obviously there are big concerns for these persons. They were last spotted at 2.30pm when they surfaced.

‘After they dived again they failed to resurface.’”

I would really like to know his status on immigration, visa, etc. If he/they were plotting anything....if only we could really use tough tactics on these scum. Probably an interesting search on his home wherever that may be, Minnesota or Wisconsin. Is it just me, or do there seem to be a lot of them up there. I would think it’s hard to blend in with the Norwegian communities which may still be the majority. Not sure since our country has turned into a melting pot of what seems to be sewer sludge.

The Third Way

Let me preface my post by stating I have always believed the path to victory in Iraq is through the streets of Tehran and Damascus. That being said there may be a way to achieve victory over Iran without the public impotence of sanctions and diplomatic maneuvers (One need only glance 90 miles south of Florida to recognize my point.)

History has also shown us that bombing, whether specifically targeted sites or en masse population centers have the tendency to unify a people rather than destroy a national will. The mullahs and Ahmidinijad are counting on the US and it's Allies to do what they have been unable to do for quite sometime. They will make the United States an enemy in the eyes of the Iranian population at large.

There are three subgroups of Iranians; those who lived under the Western influenced Shah, the militants (their baby-boomers) and the Under-30s who are definitely tired of the theocracy.

Consider the United States recognizing the Shah of Iran's son as the rightful government of Iran and supporting him to form a government in exile. Second action; transmitting information into Iran via radio, television and Internet regarding protests around the country. The third step would be providing free gasoline near border areas, create "Petrol Refugees".

That would cause the regime to lose control of the internal movements of the population and social and political breakdown on a local level due to resource shortages.

I know it's a skeleton but it can be fleshed out a bit.
