In all seriousness, don’t you expect that even Mexicans will have figured out a way to fill their trucks for the return trip? It’s not really something we on Free Republic need to worry about.”

No, and yes, it is. We need to stop looking the other way and assuming that someone will make decisions in our best interests. We know only too well that that is not true. Citizens have the right and the responsibility to be watchdogs.

Citizens have the right and the responsibility to be watchdogs.

Citizens do have that right.

I suspect there are citizens (like as in "Public Citizen") who would prefer a gummint bureaucracy take over that responsibility, as many already have. FDA, FTA, FAA, FCC, FDIC, need I go on?

How about a Federal Licensing And Safety Inspection Department for Mexican Trucks on US Highways? FLASIDMTUSH might be too long for civilian use, but the Navy would like it, as would Ralph Nader.

WELCOME Freepers to the world of a globalized economy. I think the Mexican truck drivers are decent, no complaining from some one who LIVES in south of the border. Stop your whining, it was in the NAFTA agreement, and there were some good things, and poor things, for both of the countries. But things are looking up for both countries. Come on, give it a chance. Let the American truckers roll their rigs into Mexico onto some of these turnpikes paid for by a cash out lay of the Clintons. It’s a wonderful world, if we work together we can get an edge and a handle on the market and thwart the RED CHINESE
