You could say the same about Poland. Check the immigration stats for the UK.
Perhaps you missed my point about people making decisions on the margins. I suggest you take a microeconomics course to clear up the confusion.
People aren't leaving because life in Mexico is hell. They are leaving because of economic opportunity. If the per capita income of Canada was three times that of the US, you would have US citizens immigrating to Canada. The Polish are immigrating to the UK because they can make twice as much. You don't have to be Einstein to understand this.
No...I didn't miss your point...I don't agree with it....
You don't hear of Mexicans who are successful here returning to Mexico after attaining sufficient wealth to do so....so much for your theory...I have several friends and neighbors who are Mexican immigrants who would disagree with you also...they stay here because Mexico sucks...period...
And who is responsible for the lack of economic opportunity in Mexico...which is geographically-speaking is one of the richest countries you will find? My tag line use to be "People get the leaders they deserve"...and I think it applies here....
My major was economics so not confused at all....it is you who suffers from myopic and simplistic reasoning...
All is not driven by economics my friend....speaking of simplistic here is an example...you could offer me 10 times my current salary to live and work in Mexico and I wouldn’t take you up on it ...for any amount actually...been there...never going back...:o)
