The head of the GLBT Task Force and of Lambda Legal have both been pushing for decriminalizing of this act. Funny how they fall silent today in the most famous incident since George Michael was caught in a city park’s rest room.
If he had been a Dem, the donkeys and the MSM would be circling the wagons around him, loudly decrying "police harassment" and "antigay bigotry". They would instantly attack anyone who dared suggest any wrongdoing and would elevate him up several notches in the Dem hierarchy.

Problem is that if we get all gays out of R party, we lose at least two more senators, one very highly placed and at least one very highly placed Rep, about 50 staffers (10 of the senior) ... as well as an honored R diplomat.

It would be best for Republicans if Craig didn’t run for re-election, and maybe even resigned, but this is an absurd arrest, and it is huge double standard to kick him out of the Senate while far worse degenerates like Kennedy, killer of MaryJo, enjoy a long career there. So it wont be done, and only Republicans greater sense of shame and honor will lead them to live up to higher standards than Dems.
