I have a small spider that lives behind the door in the utility room and I let him stay. The house is old and he catches a lot of critters that slither through cracks. I did rescue a baby blue tail lizard from his web once though.
I don’t care for the big outside spiders much. One morning I was getting in my truck and walked through a spider web in the dark. I’m driving down I-75 about 75 mph and this huge spider comes crawling down my forehead and lands on my nose. I smack him off my nose and he lands on my left hand. I smack him off there and he lands on the other hand. I finally smack him off and never saw where he landed. I made it to work without killing myself, anybody else, or the spider. I suppose he spent the day in the truck and a few days later I saw him back in his web. I still haven’t figured that one out. I’m pretty sure it was the same spider because I had seen him before and after the truck fiasco.
multiple species apparently
dozens of different breeds are working together there, at least until they run out of food
