If Thompson waits until September 6 to formally declare his candidacy, he won’t have to disclose any of the cash given to his campaign until January 31 — after many major contests are over, including the Iowa and Nevada Caucuses, and the New Hampshire, South Carolina, Michigan and Florida primaries. And he’s waiting til 12:01 AM, just to guarantee the legal deadline is past.

That's interesting, if true, do you have a link on that?

A smart move too that will make Lane Hudson's knickers go into a permanent knot, LOL!

That isn’t right, AFAIK.

September is still within the third quarter, so donations will have to be disclosed in October.
