A Dem congressman from Washington state, who opposed the war, has stood up for America and our troops. Not surprisingly, the leftist America-haters have jumped on him. Moveon.org is running ads against him. He needs to hear from you.
A few days ago I called Brian Baird's DC office to thank him. This morning, I called the Vancouver office, giving them my name and location: Will you please pass on a message to the congressman? (Answer: yes) Please tell him that my son in law, who is stationed at Oak Harbor, is on an aircraft carrier, probably off the coast of Iran. He and his pals want the congressman to know that they are grateful to him for standing up for America and supporting them.
The woman who answered the phone was grateful, and I thought she was almost going to cry.
FReepers, it will just take a minute. When someone faces the heat of the American-hating left, particularly when he does it to his political detriment, he needs to hear from us. Please make a phone call.

I’m with you, mate. Even though I have a friend for over twenty years that is a liberal, I will never support a Democrat on principal. But Baird is doing the right thing in supporting our troops -something I appreciate very much being ex- military Myself. He deserves support in return for doing the right thing, despite the howls emanating from the extremist lefties.
Must be his genetics forcing their way to the surface. We may have to let him back into the clan.

You got that right. I don’t care about this clown. If he was sincere, he’d change parties.
Ummmm, he is under attack by the leftist America-hating anti-war crowd, like moveon.org, which is running commercials against him. I don’t expect people to like Baird, but this is a bigger battle. If moveon.org can intimidate him, they will grow even more dangerous. No one on the other side will ever have the courage to stand up for America. That’s the battle here.
Right now I am mad at all Democrats and any Republican who thinks there's really not enough difference between Rs and Ds to bother to vote for Rs.
I've also worked in the political arena for many years and have had my fill of these so-called "conservative" Democrats who want to have it both ways. Any pro-life Democrat is useless unless they're in the minority. I put up with them for too many years, hoping to count on them.
Sorry. Perhaps tomorrow I'll be in a better mood.
