A 24-year-old Pennsylvania man was charged with drugging and repeatedly raping a 15-year-old girl after using his MySpace account to lure her to a local K-Mart, MyFoxPhilly reported Wednesday.

According to the report, prosecutors said Christopher Leasher of Bucks County used the name "chicksdigskinny" to send the victim messages asking for sex, took the girl to Philadelphia to buy cocaine, and gave her so much cocaine her life was at risk.

Does anyone else find this headline totally misleading? I'm not AT ALL saying this girl deserved what happened to her. The headline makes it sound like he roofied her, when really she met him FOR THE PURPOSE of exchanging sex for drugs. This is how bad things happen, kids.

Statutory rape I guess.

I mean it sounds like it was forcible rape (though even if she had consented, it would be statutory rape, as you correctly pointed out). I guess my problem with the headline was that it said he “drugged” her. That terminology implies that he snuck the drugs into her system, or something like that. It sounds like she agreed to meet him, he drove her to Philly, she did a TON of coke, and, lo and behold, he raped her. I mean ... what do you THINK is going to happen in that sort of situation?

Nod. Stimulants are not typically date rape drugs, although like almost all popular drugs they do reduce inhibitions. Bottom line she’s a bad girl and he’s a criminal.

Makes no difference, she is under age, the pervert is looking at 20 to 30 years.

This girl was almost dead. She was placed in a bathtub with icy water to try and revive her, she was that out of it and he still raped her.

I saw the creep on TV still doing his act for the cameras as the cops led him away. He looked like he was 16 or 17 years old and seemed to be pretending he was some big music star. I even saw pics of him posing in front of concert posters ,like he was playing some big gigs.

The guy’s a creep and a criminal and a rapist, no doubt. My gripe was just with the headline, that he “drugged” her. I just thought that was misleading. Not defending the guy or justifying what happened — at all.

I like the way they blame myspace, instead of crappy parenting, or the perp, for what happened to the girl. Make it easy to blame something (gun, SUV, website) instead of the PERSON(s) responsible.

Since she was using cocaine it can be said she is a crimminal also, not just a bad girl.

Throwing registered sex offenders off MySpace sure made it a safe place, didn’t it?

Wow. I had no idea I could use a Website to drug someone.

All this time, I thought I had to physically drop a pill in someone’s drink. What a techno-tard I am!

You're not going far enough. It's Rupert Murdoch's Myspace that drugged and raped this girl.

That's the story.

“used the name “chicksdigskinny” to send the victim messages asking for sex..”

and she still met him? Obviously she knew sex was on the menu before she met this guy. I don’t see how you can call it forcible rape at that point. Statutory rape sure.

yeah, except that he didn’t drug her. she drugged herself. The guy is a criminal but she would have found someone else to do the same thing to her if he hadn’t been around. She was looking for sex and drugs and she found it.

http://www.avert.org/aofconsent.htm

The age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16. He did give narcotics to a minor. I’m sure that she is telling her family that he raped her while she was under the influence.

From the article, I don’t see any mention of the drigs being discussed before they met.

All I see bad about the girl is that she was interested in sex and had the bad judgment to meet somebody with a stupid screen name. Which basically makes her normal.
