while I don’t agree with Arnie’s stance...Bush is not very consistent.

It is Bush’s policy that all elderly - even the very wealthy- should have prescription drugs given to them courtesy of the taxpayers.

It seems poor children are not as important as wealthy elderly.

Oh yeah...the kids can’t vote.

I agree, it’s hard to follow the methods to the madness of many of today’s elected eladers.

Bush thought when he came in that he could triangulate the liberals by stealing their issues. He did that with prescription drugs only it did not work the way he planned.

Bush wanted to help the “poor” on Medicare get cheaper drugs. The Democrats in Congress wanted everyone to get it so they could expand their Socialist agenda. Bush caved, figuring he got “something” like he originally proposed during his campaign. You know, the new tone and all.
Remember GORE hugging the old lady who walked the streets collecting cans to pay for her meds? The old lady with the millionaire son? She did’t want his help because the Gubment owed her because she lived so long.

You don’t get it. There is a stealth war going on with those who want to privitize health care to the greatest extent possible “conservatives” and those who want to expand Government run healthh care “liberals.” the Medicare drug benefit created a large nose under the tent for conservatives in the proliferation of private Medicare plans that seniors will not five up lightly. The SCHIP reauthorization bill is the stealth counter move by liberals to erode the position of private plans in the market-displace private insurance markets with government benefits. Arnold is a complete sell out, a fraud.

I beg to differ, he is consistant. The prescription drug program was a massive givaway to business on the backs of taxpayers.

Companies with long standing obligations to thier retirees simply sent them forms to apply for the new government givaways.
