This is so strange. Thirty years ago I breastfed in probably all the major chains, and never had a problem.
Of course, I never exposed myself, always had a blanket, sat in the back, didn’t make anything of it.
Now all this controversy just amazes me.
FWIW, my children hated bottles, never took anything from a bottle. Seriously, not a joke. Some kids just don’t like the artificial nipples.

I think its the women. We had a neighbor that breast fed her three-year-old and thought it appropriate to pull up her shirt during conversation fully exposing her breast from the collar bone down for up to a minute while the child (that was running around) decided whether they wanted a snack or not.
I think its an in your face demand for acceptance.
During the summer, I would use a cloth dinner size table napkin. It worked great and probably attracted even less attention.
