Debating Ron Paul
National Ledger ^ | Aug 29, 2007 | JB Williams

Posted on 08/29/2007 4:59:22 AM PDT by PlainOleAmerican

Ron Paul supporters are fast making a name for themselves on the web. Not because they are just web savvy, but because they have proven themselves to be the best at hacking on-line polls, invalidating conservative polling data on behalf of their candidate. It seems that even Democrat 527 MoveOn.org is now onboard the Ron Paul anti-war train.

Despite the fact that presidential candidate Ron Paul can not score better than 3% in any legitimate national poll, his supporters claim he is “the conservative” candidate to beat in the 2008 Republican race for the White House. Despite his less than conservative voting record in congress and his Teddy Kennedy like position on the war on terror in Iraq, his supporters think he is the most “conservative” candidate in the race. How?

"Paulettes who respond to this thread: I’m anxious to hear your rebuttal of this piece. Calling names, frothing at the mouth, etc,. isn’t rebuttal."

I suppose you don't see he the beam in your own eye . . .

Do you think the good doctor is aware he’s a Soros trojan horse?

But he's not. We don't have any donations from the Soros organizations.

Write Soros a letter and tell him to send RP some money. Maybe we could get RP to accept it.

No set of numbers anywhere come close to even suggesting that Ron Paul can win anything other than Code Pink President...

So the fact that you think our choice is Ron Paul or Hillary Clinton is laughable...

Hillary Clinton WILL be President if conservatives do not unite behind an electable conservative, not some crackpot dope lovin libertarian isolationist who can’t get above 3% in any poll without his handful of liberal supporters spamming the poll.

I ran a search at Thomas for your bill number and got this:
Securities and Exchange Commission Authority Restoration Act of 2007 (Introduced in House)[H.R.2586.IH]

Did you read the bill?

Well now you are just being silly.

LOL Well, of course a Paulistinian would say that. But it isn't silly to me, and of course, I'm the one who chooses who I will be voting for.

It looks like you didn’t change the year in the advanced search function. You ran the 2007 bills for the 110th congress, that bill was from 2001 for the 107th congress (Part of the NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002)

The war is a losing issue for the GOP. So you can either have Clinton who will pull out of Iraq, and then run this country into Marxist hell or you can have Paul who will pull out and then reduce the size and scope of the Federal gov't.

Or we can have Fred Thompson, a real conservative that can actually win the presidency.

Then pass an Amendment. If alcohol required one, so should anything else. Too much of our Constitution has been subverted just to keep the current multi-trillion dollar boondoggle "war on drugs" alive. No-knock raids, wire tapping, warrentless searches, victimless crimes... All in the name of some prudish need to tell others what to do. As has been pointed out, they can't even keep drugs out of maximum security prisons. Enforcing this on 300 plus million people would be feasible and affordable how again?

Let 'em die. Help them die through defensive use of deadly force if in their drug induced stupor they decide to attack you or yours. Setting up a Nanny State to protect you only makes you, and all those around you, subject to compounding abuses that eventually destroy everything those before you fought and died for.

How did this same so called “core” in the GOP look at a Leftist kook like Guiliani and think putting a pro-abortion anti-gunner on the ticket was a “winning” deal?

I predict this thread will be inundated in a very short time with the Pauloids.

Are they the same people that vote in the straw polls?

The “core” didn’t. The current crop of “moderate” Republicans “compassionate towards socialism” did.

When the American people start rejecting gifts from the treasury at the polls, politicians will stop buying votes with tax-payer funds. Until then, try to get elected without promising gifts from the treasury to someone...

The American people won’t elect a “real conservative” willing to take out our enemies and kick out our freeloaders.

heh..no, actually he does pretty well in the straw polls. I just can't figure out why when he can't get 2% in the nationals.

Why are you concerned about Paul, Clara?

He's not going to win, right? Fred is going to win, right?

I get sick of mudslinging.and half-truths. The article posted made clear, concise statements about Paul, and I wanted to hear clear honest rebuttal from Paul supporters. A couple here responded that way. I appreciate the opportunity to read what they have to say. There’s no danger of me voting for Paul, though.
