And since you don’t appear to like the way presidents have been elected in this country, what exactly are you suggesting? How are YOU as CEO going to select what YOU see as the “best and brightest” candidate for this position?

No, that's not what I said. What I said was that we are not getting the best representation from our elected officials and that is bringing us dreck government in which those WE elect to represent US and OUR interests at every level of government choose, instead, to represent their party, and their personal agendas. This brings us such things as the ongoing illegal immigration issue that has NOT been resolved despite strong pushback from the voters telling their elected representatives that we don't want the borders left unsecured, we want the illegals deported and we want our immigration laws and national sovereignty to be enforced.

In an era when politicians proclaim that a 51% victory margin is a mandate, consistent poll results from conservative AND liberal polling sites have shown that >75% of us want this situation resolved. When it comes to illegal immigration, our elected representatives are selectively deaf.

Again, I make the point that this is OUR country. When you read the Constitution and recognize that it is a document that was carefully written and carefully thought out, it is criminal that the care of both the document and the government that they created has been turned over to those with lesser ability (the oft cited "lesser of the two evils" I noted originally). The Founding Fathers initially rejected the notion of a strong centralized government for fear of creating what we have today. The 10th Amendment specifically addresses that concern and, yet, we have allowed a runaway Congress to do as it will until we have taken many of those issues inended to be under the control of the states and allowed the federal government to hijack them.

Our nation flourished for about 200 years following the Constitution. However, the nonstop onslaught by those for whom power means more than a free America, has eroded the strength of the Constitution and made us a nation of selected men (or women) and NOT laws. We have allowed these people to create a political elite class that excludes itself from much of the laws that they have created to govern the rest of us. We have allowed them to hijack the responsibility of educating our children, thereby producing high school graduates who can't read, write, perform simple mathematical functions (such as making change for a dollar without the aid of a calculator), or even find the United States on a map of the globe.

And, yes, I DO believe that the CEO analogy has much to do with electing the president. America is OUR country and we ARE it's CEO. The president, the Congress, et al, are OUR employees. We are not theirs. If you believe otherwise, you have to believe that the government is truly responsible for and in control of all wealth. When the government is responsible for and in control of all wealth, it is socialism at best and communism at worst. No, I'm not calling you either a socialist or communist by inference, just making the point that if we believe that the president is OUR employer, then that makes each of us employees of the United States.

W showed up her in Reno this week and gave probably the best speech on the WOT and security he has ever given to the American Legion Convention. Clearly written by a new speech writer - five years to late. For the first time he actually laid things out in a logical manner and managed to sell it of course to a friendly audience.

OK Chief, best of luck to you in finding that perfect employee. Personally I think you underestimate the contention and squabbling that have always surrounded the selection of a president... going back to the founders. And then of course there was that civil war that was kicked off by the election of a president. I really don’t think we are any more or less flawed than our ancestors - we just have different challenges as a result of population and technology. But then, I’m an optimist about representative democracy. I haven’t seen anything better yet.

The truth is not a symptom of a troll, just the opposite .So if you don’t have an argument than just call someone a troll .

If you don’t want conservative being redefined than stop doing it .

Conservatives believe in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution . They believe in sovereignty and immigrant assimilation , they don’t think their language should be a second language, that the leaders are to serve the people not dictate .They know that a nation without borders is not a nation at all .

How many trucks can 37 company's own ?

Also the U.N. will be taking care of us in case of a plaque or avian flu outbreak under the SPP deal . Just thought some here may want to know what a good job the man I voted for both times is doing ‘sarc’.

“Oh,well, can’t say I didn’t try .”

I know. I just thought I’d save you a lot of frustration. But we’ll have our ‘victories’ in Iraq to celebrate, so we can’t be called defeatists (lol)

But Iraq is under Sharia law ,like the Balkans. Most of the Jews and Christians that haven’t been decapitated have hit the trail .

I already have my survival kit ready for whoever takes us over . I have my sombrero and practicing being mute since I don’t speak speedy lango. And if the muslims win, I have my one size fits all burka and padded rug for my old knees. And in case that does’t work, I have a spare bullet for my head . When the shiite hits the fan I’ll be ready either way .

OK Chief, best of luck to you in finding that perfect employee.

I never said anything about a perfect employee. What I tried to point out is that when we cast votes for or against a given candidate in a given political race, we are, in essence, deciding which person we want to represent our interests to the government. I also noted that consistently voting for "the lesser of the two evils" as a political choice has given us politicians and policies that are substandard, and a government that has basically failed in every endeavor it undertakes.

IOW you can't keep drafting the bottom of the barrel for decades and expect to make the Superbowl any time soon.

Thanks for the discussion and the exchange of ideas.

Well good luck to you. Make sure you tell me who you finally decide to vote for... I’d be interested.

I’d be interested.

Yeah, me too! So far I see very little in the way of viable candidates; viable being the operative word.

Again, thanks for the discussion.
