My favorite in my 40+ collection is a 5 inch chambered in .50-70 to launch a 750 grain .50 BMG slug.

I'd venture to guess that you are not in doubt about whether that particular shell actually fired, vs. the possibility of a dud.

The second time I fired it the TC “Recoil proof” scope went flying. I only use open sights now and only use one hand. Keeps the trigger guard from digging into the weak hand.
