When a cop commmits a crime, do we reduce all cops to criminals?

While I understand the thrust of the arguments about Craig that will be made, the bottom line is that he could reject any of the homosexual agenda while being engaged in homosexual acts.

I don’t know this guy. Its sad that we now have to say “Despite this guy....”

“we’re not going to tolerate this in the Republican Party”.
Agreed. That type of behavior is tolerated in the dim party but not the GOP, hey craig, don’t let the screen door hit you in the @ss.

i don't think so. if the pubbies do not demand his resignation, the conservative base will still support republican candidates.

if they do demand his resignation, some of the social moderates who would vote republican might be turned off.

it's politics, not morality. just playing the game.

Morality enforced by shame or persuasion is vastly superior to the alternative.

And it is becoming increasingly illegal to do that. On the flip side, the force of government is actually on the side of immorality in many cases.

Craig's hypocrisy will show in his willingness to be judged by the same standards he advocated. It isn't as much about whether he himself measured up. A person who admits the rightness of the standard and is sorry for his failures is not so much a hypocrite as a fool. He foolishly did what he knew was wrong. The hypocrite is the guy who denies his own misdeeds. So time will tell.

What I can't quit thinking about is how unsafe the public restrooms are these days. Yuck!

As opposed to Sen Difi forced from her chair for giving no-bid contracts to family members the press says nothing about?

Agreed. AG Gonzalez totally dropped the ball on that one. Shame wouldn’t work on her. Legal action is required to restrain someone with no morality or ethics.

“Yes, that worked so well and turned out so well with Mark Foley.”

We didn’t do that with Foley. We (the party and establishment) basically slapped his hand, then defended him, and it came back to bite us in 2006. Iraq didn’t kill the GOP in 06, perception of corruption did.

Nobody’s knickers were in a twist when it was discovered that Barney Frank’s significant rectum was running a male prostitution ring in Barney’s basement. At least no one on the left.

The left hates the stigma and true sin that homosexuality (and any sex outside of marriage is), and they hate when people stand for decentcy and against their immorality (is that condemning ANYONE: No, I am sure everyone has their own hidden sins they don’t want anyone knowing about), but it does point out a standard: a standard that says there are certain morals that should be followed; and homosexuality is not one of them, in-fact it is harmful, and immoral-spiritually harmful as well..

I used to think that the Left elevated hypocrisy to the worst crime in order to have one last standard of right and wrong. However, since Al Gore never got called on his energy sucking mansion while preaching energy conservation, I think the Left uses the hypocrisy card like they use the race card—completely disingenuously.

The Left has shown itself to be entirely self-serving with no moral standard whatsoever. They will lie, cheat, and steal with virtually zero oversight. They own the media, the courts, and the schools and so they literally get away with murder, bribery, corruption, and pretty much every moral vice that exists. So how does a immoral degenerate liar get any credence when he screams HYPOCRISY to a standard he never wants to follow? Because we react to it. We are stooges to the media who they can pull strings to get a reaction.

If the Democrats have abandoned civility in the political game, then we should too. They put their stooges in courts? Let’s put our own. They start 300 investigations of republicans hoping something sticks? They should get what’s coming to them. They call Republican senators hypocrites for family values? Let’s show them as hypocrites on the environmentalist front. If they are tree huggers, call them anti-science. Did they accept campaign contributions from big business? Call them pro-big business. Call them on where they stand and discredit them to their own constituency. The Democrats do that enough already. It’s time we do it too.

How do we know that the Queer, Senator Larry Craig has not been blackmailed into voting for Bills that furthered the socialist cause or helped Communism?

I think the guy needs a lie detector test.

#####If they do demand his resignation, some of the social moderates who would vote republican might be turned off#####

You mean crusing for male on male sex in public restrooms is now “moderate”? We’ve defined deviancy down to the point that it’s considered radical and extreme to oppose such disgusting conduct?

Craig needs to resign and seek help for his perversion. Any conservative who says he should stay in office because he votes pro-life and pro-family is being a hypocrite.

We can’t be hypocritical on these issues. I know that liberals are hypocrites all the time, and they get away with it. Feminists can rage against sexual abuse of women, then turn right around and defend a serial misogynist such as Bill Clinton or Ted Kennedy, and they’re given a pass by the press.

But we can’t get away with such hypocrisy, and really we shouldn’t want to. If we keep Craig in office just to play some kind of political game, all we’ll accomplish is to normalize perverted behavior in public restrooms and every future attempt to oppose the homosexual agenda will suffer because, after all, one of our guys cruises for anal sodomy.

What a scum. Foley part II. He'll do more damage to the party's credibility on these issues and therefore should resign immediately. But he won't. Our party leaders are idiots.

One of the main reasons the GOP doesn't stand up for traditional values when it means something is because the party leadership is loaded with guys like this. They talk a good game, but once you get them in the men's room, don't bend over to pick up your luggage.

One of the articles linked above identfies Craig as a Romney guy. Why am I not surprised.
