For American trucker, Mark R. Taylor, of Warren, Arkansas, MySpace.com was a place to keep in touch with friends and co-workers from his days as a truck driver hauling the mail in Iraq and with fellow truckers in the United States. For Truck It Records recording artist, Joey Holiday, it was a place fans could come to see music videos and send messages to their favorite performer. That changed on August 21, 2007, when Taylor, a friend of Holidays, opened his MySpace inbox and found a message purportedly from Holiday claming to be a Hysterical Video using Taylors image.
Suspicious, Taylor clicked the image and was taken to a website called ExplainThese.com. The banner across the top claimed Video bandwidth exceeded and a box asked for the site visitors cellular phone number in an attempt to sell a ring tone subscription. When one reads the Terms and Conditions on ExplainThese.com, several sites are listed, including Ringaza.com. Taylor immediately contacted Holiday as well as reporting the incident to MySpace.

Myspace has the worst code ever. Really really bad.
My thoughts on both MySpace and AOL....lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas....
“Tom” seems to think that the solutions to Myspace’s problems is more advertising in every little strip of blank space rather than keeping the bulletins, email, and even login online (I swear it seems that some service is “undergoing special maintenance” every hour).
These problems are less likely to happen if you have your page and photos set to private. You should also mark Forwarding Blocked on photos. Set comments and pics to Must Be Approved. Sign out EVERY time, etc.
May not be foolproof, but its worked for me so far. Of course, I’ve only been on there for a couple months so far so we’ll see how it goes! It’s a good way to keep in touch with family and friends.
I finally shut down my page. It’s nothing but spam and advertisements anyway. Pretty pointless.
Oh no. You shut down your Myspace page. ;-)
You check every hour?
LOL!
