A man accused of killing a 24-year-old geological survey intern told a court Monday he wants a death sentence and will kill a police officer if he doesn't get it.
Amos faces murder and kidnapping charges plus five other counts, including unlawful felony transport of the victim and carrying a semi-automatic rifle in violation of his conviction for a 1981 murder in Kansas that sent him to prison for nearly 20 years. Three additional counts related to the Kansas conviction were added as sentence enhancers...
The district attorney had intended to seek life in prison for Amos, which angered the defendant. He insisted that death was the proper punishment and threatened to kill a police officer to ensure his wish would be carried out.

Fry him!!
Exactly! Fry him and go for a new DA.
Many a cold-blooded murderer has had his life spared because people squeamish about executions imagine that it is more moral or humane to lock him up for life or until he escapes or is pardoned someday when an even more squeamish governor is elected.
Additional people murdered by convicted murderers are part of the grim price paid for that squeamishness.

Amos is accused of strangling Morimoto near a campground deep in the San Isabel National Forest on June 26. She was working for the Colorado Geological Survey.
Duh!
Just kill yourself, moron!
Except they take away anything for prisoners to kill themselves with besides gnawing through their flesh to bleed out.
Maybe they should allow prisoners to visit an euthanasia station in the prison and kill themselves at any time. It would probably dramatically cut down on the prisoner population.
You could always dive head first into the floor. If you practiced at it, I’m sure you could make it work.
Bingo! Maybe we can give Dr. Kervorkian a nice part-time job doing the honors. It would save us a LOT of money, and perhaps these filthy, subhuman animals could salvage the little honor and dignity is still available to them.
I question why someone would be out on trout creek pass
by themselves without being armed.
Let him have it.
She was working for the USGS, maybe they don’t allow their employees to go armed.

There are lots of homeless living in remote parts of South Park in mild weather. Common sense would dictate carrying a sidearm. She did not work for the USGS, it was the geological survey for the State of Colorado.
