Pre-SPP Summit Conference Reveals True Elitist Mindset
The August Review ^ | 8/26/07 | Patrick Wood

The August 21, 2007 Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) summit in Montebello, Quebec with U.S. President Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Harper and Mexican President Calderon was held behind closed doors. Nothing of substance has been reported by the press, even though several major media outlets attended the event.

To understand what might have happened, we can turn to an August 13 policy conference that was held in Washington, DC. Titled "The Montebello Summit and the Future of North America," the conference presented three panels of global thinkers, including Dr. Robert A. Pastor, to prognosticate on the past, present and future of the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) and North America.

Good article. We didn’t see much about this meeting in
CanadA

https://www.augustreview.com/news_commentary/north_american_union/pre-spp_summit_conference_reveals_true_elitist_mindset_2007082775/

This excerpt is my favorite:

“As you can plainly see, all academics are not in lock-step with the globalist vision, as the elite might have you believe. There is not general consensus!

If you take the time to preview the video of the Hudson Institute conference, you can watch the expressions and the body language of the participants: most were stunned (but undaunted) after Fonte’s presentation.

All of the elite protesting that the SPP, the North American Union (or Community) and the NAFTA Super Corridor are baseless urban myths is an insult to anyone’s intellect.

Rep. Duncan Hunter’s amendment (H.R. 3074) to the Transportation Appropriations Act “prohibiting the use of federal funds for participation in working groups under the Security and Prosperity Partnership, including the creation of the NAFTA Super Highway” passed the house on July 24, 2007 by an overwhelming bi-partisan majority of 362-63!

If 85 percent of our Congress are indeed given over to chasing baseless urban myths, then we have a problem much greater than just North American integration! “

Not.

From Dr. john Fonte’s comments:

“The Council of Foreign Relations report, “Building American – North American Community” also recommends building North American identity. It says, quote, “encourage – we should encourage in imaginative ways to build North American connections, have research institutes, engage in new concepts such as the North American community, developing curricula that would permit citizens of our three countries to look at each other in the past in different ways.

Now, for those of us who have spent years examining history curricula, the subtext of this is clear enough. This is historical revisionism. Let’s rewrite the history of American history not as a story of the American people but as a story of North America. The Council on Foreign Relations also recommends, quote, “developing training programs for elementary and secondary teachers who would give some students a greater sense of North American identity.

Again, these are code words that are clear enough: translation, promoting new North American identity that will challenge the allegedly outmoded conceptions of
American, Canadian, or Mexican identity.”

Same old elitist approach: change things gradually, fund research institutes to put out studies with the desired conclusions, change school curriculums to indoctrinate the young into North American identity, etc. These are the same tactics used to indoctrinate a generation or more of Americans into multiculturalism, the magic of diversity, the desirability of open borders, etc., etc.

If the numbnuts in Congress thought they caught grief over the immigration conflagration, I can’t wait to see what happens when they propose incorporating the U.S, Canada and Mexican’t under one “big tent”. I’ll bring the popcorn!

I thought the notion of an “Anglosphere” was a much more workable idea. Thank the Lord, SOMEONE finally had the courage to verbalize the notion that Mexico and Central America “might be a drag” economically.

Well, I would guess, from the failure of the “amnesty legislation” this year, this education indoctrination tactic is not working as well as expected.

“Well, I would guess, from the failure of the “amnesty legislation” this year, this education indoctrination tactic is not working as well as expected.”

It’s worked all too well for years, and they never give up. The defeat of the amnesty bill might be the first instance where the voters rebelled and dealt them a defeat.

But they’re still trying, now for smaller chunks of amnesty, after months of saying we could only deal with the problem by a “comprehensive” solution.

You are, of course, correct. The Congresscritters continue to try to pass their “amnesty”, a piece at a time. I am still sending my NumbersUSA faxes and sending email to anyone and everyone!

The main problem with the NAFTA Super Corridor is that logistically it appears to be designed to facilitate a future invading ground force that intended to invade the heart of America.

Duncan Hunter is fighting for us every way he can. NOW is the time for us to fight for him! He has the correct take on every issue important to conservatives.

Interesting to note that Robert Pastor’s early works were funded by the International Economics, which has been called communist front group by some.

In addition, he was involved in Latin America during the so-called ‘dirty wars’— which were used as a tool to set up coup d’état.

I thought some of the links were interesting.

Even though this author claims that this is more hype than anything else, I sure don’t trust it. What bothers me is the indoctrination of our children and grandchildren 10 years down the road that they are “North Americans”.

Robert Pastor is one evil person given recognition by Jimmy Carter. It is no telling what he is into, dirty wars and all as he thinks his way is the only way. He is still after “free trade”, managed trade. by the WTO and unAmerican tribunals. The SPP will call for more Secretariats, Ministers and tribunals all unAmerican. We need to keep watching our bills in congress just to make sure some one doesn’t sneak one through.

Duncan Hunter has done well.

The SPP will be a minor footnote in history if we have the balls to elect a man like Duncan Hunter.

Great move by Duncan Hunter and the House.

So now that they can't use "federal funds" for this monstrosity, they will no doubt find foreign funds to continue to sell America out.

WHY is an American president involved in this planned destruction of our country? Does anyone question his loyalties? Does anyone question his sanity?
