I'm glad I don't own stock I would certainly sell it considering the rising defaults on mortgages and declining house values. BAnks are going to end up with a lot of mortgages on over valued property, but then the anti immmigrant crowd doesn't care what happens to the economy. The reduced demand for goods and services will put a lot of citizens out of work or out of business. Here's some more from the original article. <> http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/0826sanctionsimpact08260.html?&wired

He knows other undocumented immigrants who are refinancing their houses and getting cash out so they can return right away rather than waiting for their houses to sell.

Refinancing the homes, taking the cash, and returning to Mexico, leaving the bank stuck with the mortgages? Oh no!

That's a crock if I ever heard one.

The anti-ILLEGAL crowd cares very much about our economy. Think of all the tax money that will be freed up as we stop paying for illegals FREE health care and education, and welfare and food stamps.

Think of all the rapes, the drunk driving killings, the police murders that will go down.

What some people don't realize is that there's much more to be gained that has no $$$$$$ value. The economy will be OK. People will manage. And we'll all be a lot safer.

I don't know many people who are anti-immigrant; but I know many who oppose illegal immigration. They certainly care what happens to the economy.

So you’re saying that the mortgage melt-down is due to anti-immigration activities. It has nothing to do with rising interest rates, but instead is because illegal aliens are being “forced” out of their homes.

“BAnks are going to end up with a lot of mortgages on over valued property, but then the anti immmigrant crowd doesn’t care what happens to the economy. The reduced demand for goods and services will put a lot of citizens out of work or out of business. Here’s some more from the original article.”

Question: Why did the banks loan money to illegal aliens in the first place?

Question: If ‘buy low, sell high’ is the essence of free enterprise, you think that there’ll be a market for the distressed properties in question, and for the secondhand furniture too?

Question: Those ‘undocumented workers’ put a strain on tax-funded institutions like schools, hospitals, fire departments, police departments, jails, parole boards, DSHS, HHS, Centers for Disease Control, and other county and city services. What will be the expected economic impact of the reduction in demand for these services? Will it cost more or less to provide them to ‘legal, documented people’?

Question: What effect will the reduction in illegal immigration have on the status and conduct of legally documented aliens?

Question: What are the likely environmental effects on the relocation of the illegal immigrant community? Will they drive less? What’s the impact on local auto traffic? Mass transit? Waste management?

The false economies of illegal labor forces are pretty sobering once they are examined. You can mitigate the impact of the economic BURDEN of having all of these undocumented, illegal immigrants here if you institute a system that allows foreign nationals to come to the US with full documentation and certain legal rights, work, and then return to Mexico.

You CAN’T do that until they go back home. Good for Arizona. This makes eminent economic sense, and it fixes the problem, for Arizona, without putting any major impact on local law enforcement.

It is the anti-illegal immigrationcrowd that cares about the economy and the country. First, get the terminology right. Second, look at the big picture. Illegal aliens typically come here with a 6th grade education and are unskilled low-wage earners. They take much, much more in social services and free handouts than they ever return. And stats show that their children don't do much better. They cost each and every one of us tax-dollars and in return, we get increased crime, increased dumbing-down of our education, and a loss of our own culture. While having to support these illegals and their offspring because they earn so little money. They are an overal net drain on our economy.
