Students at Reed and Lewis & Clark are mostly hippie atheist liberal nerds -- at least according to the Princeton Review's 2008 edition of "Best 366 Colleges."
The book lists the top 20 colleges in 62 categories based on a survey of 120,000 college students who were asked everything from their political leanings to drug use. For instance, students at Lewis & Clark and Reed made the list of "dodge-ball targets."
Other notable rankings Lewis & Clark is the No. 1 college where "students ignore God on a regular basis," followed by Reed at No. 3.
Reed and Lewis & Clark also both made the lists of schools with "students most nostalgic for Bill Clinton" and "Birkenstock-wearing, tree-hugging, clove-smoking vegetarians."
Lewis & Clark students are No. 5 for their use of marijuana and No. 4 for being the most politically active. They also say Portland is a great college town.
Reed students are the most studious and have the best classroom experience. Their professors get high marks, and classroom discussions are encouraged. Reed also has one of the best college radio stations, but its intercollegiate sports rank as unpopular or nonexistent.
One last warning from the survey: Reed College students "are characterized by a love of learning for its own sake as well as an inability to dance like normal people. Skilled dancers can be integrated into the community with little difficulty, but academic slackers are quickly weeded out."
The rankings are posted at www.princetonreview.com.

The parents (not together, of course, but from their separate domains) probably are proud of kids like this. Clones of mom and dad.
This is not news. Reed has been Red for generations (but they have great tennis courts!), and picturesque L & C is renown for their Totalitarian Presbyterianism. One of my daughters got her Masters there.
HA! My alma mater, Thomas Aquinas College, ranked as the most conservative college in America. We didn’t have a naked slip and slide day, although Reed does.
Where’s the list of top conservative colleges: Congratulations on your’s being one of them: I graduated from Liberty University (Dr. Jerry Falwell); that has to be up there too!
I didn’t see Liberty U on there, which is a bit suprising.
Many years ago one of L&C’s professors, his wife and family were our next door neighbors. He was an avowed Communist, but it didn’t seem to spill over into his family or social life. We all enjoyed eachother’s company for many years. But though I always kept that fact in a little corner of my mind, I have many fond memories of our friendship, conservative Republican that I am!
Thanks for the list: I prefer this one..

Plus it was authored by Conservatives, not MSN ;).
I know a lot of schools on YAF’s list through reputation. It appears to be a very reliable list.
that may be the way THEY like to put it, but what's more to the truth is that kids who don't toe the ideological line are quickly weeded out.
alumna
I guessded how it was spelleded instead of dictionarying it.
plural = alumni
singular (male) = alumnus
singular (female) = alumna
