Rep. Brian Baird's star is rising rapidly in the Republican Party.
Unfortunately for Baird, he's a Democrat.
Since returning from a trip to the Mideast this month, the Vancouver congressman has been touting the progress he observed in Iraq. Breaking with nearly all other Democratic members of Congress, he says the United States should not immediately withdraw troops from Iraq, vowing to oppose a binding timetable even though he voted for one just last month.

Under the Constitution, giving "aid and comfort" to enemies of the United States is considered treason. Could the sub-head, by implication, mean that the Oregonian considers the Republicans enemies?

Unlike her, he seems very smart and knowledgeable. Not your average hack. Iâve never seen him before, but heâs impressive.

Yes. Jeff Mapes used to attempt to maintain some constraint on his BDS, but, lately their has been a pronounced further leftward shift in his and the papers new articles and editorials(the line is virtually non existent now). Moonbat fever, catch it.

Baird is easily one of the most liberal Dems you will ever find, he is also a very honest person. He was a professor of psychology at Pac Lutheran and a very objective person. I will continue to vote against him but appreciate his sense of duty, something unique in the Dems.
