Yep, he needs jail time.

Animal abuse has been a crime since Mr. Bergh started the New York SPCA back in the 1880s. The impetus for Mr. Bergh's campaign was that brutality to animals encourages brutality to humans and debases the abuser. He saw plenty of that on the mean streets of Manhattan.

And a highly organized dogfighting organization like Vick's also leads to other crimes -- gambling, racketeering, theft, etc. Not to mention the cruelty of killing the "underperformers" in highly sadistic ways like electrocution, drowning and beating. That tells you that these people have a screw loose and it was only a matter of time before they turned to humans for their kicks.

Not to mention that vicious dogs are a danger to society, and deliberately breeding vicious dogs is damaging to the breed as a whole.

You know it amazes me some on FR try to use hunting or slaughterhouses, and other straw man arguments to excuse animal abuse and torture for entertainment.
I guess some really have trouble seeing that Vick is a pure mental case. He needs to be in a psycho ward getting mental help. People who are involved in dogfighting have a nasty violent mindset.
