“The Navy made a documentary of the fire.”

Shortly after it was made, became mandatory viewing for ALL Navy personnel.

Your impression of the film was the same as mine. Shipboard fire is scary indeed.

One of my jobs was Damage Control Assistant on the Vincennes. Fire was the casualty you trained for every day.

Yup, we all saw "Trial by Fire", and it never failed to get my attention. We saw it in boot-camp and at every Shipboard and Aircraft fire-fighting school I attended. They used to show it periodically on the ship's Training Channel.

Every see the "The man from LOX"? Mandatory viewing for those of us that worked around liquid oxygen.
