We knew the terrorists had their base in Afghanistan. This after we just got hit. I think Paul or anyone else didn't have time to engage in Constitutional semantics. Still, he wanted the President to ask for a declaration of war.
You tell me why didn't the President just ask for a full declaration of war from Congress against Middle Eastern terrorism to begin with, and he could have engaged in all the nation-building in Iraq he wanted.
Oh,so it is “semantics” — and I agree, that is all it is — when it suits you to justify Paul’s vote for action in Afghanistan. But when it comes to Iraq, suddenly it is not mere semantics and it was the principled decision not to support it? Is that about the size of it? LOL!
