Democratic Party bars Florida party members from 2008 convention if primary is held before Feb. 5

WASHINGTON | The Democratic National Committee voted Saturday to refuse to seat any Florida Democrat at the 2008 presidential convention if the state party did not delay its primary.

The committee gave Florida Democrats 30 days to propose a primary date that conformed with Democratic rules prohibiting all but four states from holding their primaries or caucuses before Feb. 5.

Nevada, then Michigan are DEMOCRAT-MACHINE controlled states

Rare good move by the DNC. It is time to stop this madness of having primaries up to 11 months before the election (as Iowa may have to do).

If only they were to enforce this upon all states. Iowa and New Hampshire shouldn’t get a special exemption either.

You miss the point...

The NEvada and Michigan primaries were moved up to give Hillary early victories in MAchine/Union controlled states.

Florida moving up puts a real wrench into that plan, and a LOT of money is riding on Hillary’s inevitability...

My understanding is this affects only the Democratic Delegates at the their convention.

The DNC hasn’t approved the Jan 15th Michigan primary date.

Michigan Republicans wanted Feb 5th but said they would go with the earlier date that the RATS insisted on.

If Fla RATS are stuck with Jan 29th, and the Michigan RATS go ahead and stick to the Jan 15th date, I doubt the DNC will dare strip both states of all delegates.

If they do it will definitely be popcorn time at the RAT convention!
