Jesse Jackson drops the "R" bomb on London ["reparations"]

After bullying London's mayor into apologizing for his city's role in the transatlantic slave trade more than two centuries ago, Jesse Jackson did what he does best - demand money.
At Thursday's memorial commemorating the 200th anniversary of the abolition of England's slave trade, Mayor Ken Livingstone was literally brought to tears as he apologized "on behalf of London and its institutions" for their role in ferrying human cargo to the New World.
If you've been paying attention to this charlatan's game, you won't be surprised to hear that the Guardian reported that "Jackson walked over and placed his arm around the mayor" as he delivered his wet-eyed contrition for the acts of those long dead before his great-grandfather was ever born.
Afterwards, in his classic mumbo-jumbo non-sequitur rhyme-speak, the man who put Hymie-town on the map praised Livingstone for breaking "important ground." A Kumbaya moment, indeed -- of course he then snatched the opportunity to demand that apologetic Londoners now break into their wallets and pay reparations for the sins of a few of their great-great-grandfathers.
Astounding - having thus far failed to bring his own country to its knees with similar liberal-guilt-exploiting strong-arm tactics (okay -- he's still working on it), the civil rights huckster now charges that modern Britain was also built on the ill-gotten gains of his oppressed people and that,
"We must not speak of the slave trade and slavery in past tense terms."
Of course not - this deplorable injustice, 200 years banned in Britain and 144 so in America, still delivers quite the flesh for leeches feeding on the blood and guts of their own people, doesn't it Jessie? After all, it pays for your cars, your travel and your copious bling, doesn't it?
That's why the ever self-serving Jackson will never let go of this bogus trump card, and now seeks to upgrade it to platinum on the promise of pitifully unmerited reparations on the backs of the innocent.
From the fact that only a very small minority of white Americans ever owned slaves to the reality of existing reparations in the forms of welfare and racial set-asides, Horowitz deftly covers all the bases.
And, though it's doubtful that Brits will have any more of this rubbish than its allies across the pond, one thing is certain.
While asking repentance is itself absurd, as no living person has ever been or owned an American slave, seeking recompense -- on any continent -- lowers the appeal to the level of Jackson's bread-and-butter MO - racial extortion.

Reparations: Carbon credits for racial guilt. People who never owned slaves paying money to people who never were slaves.

Jesse illustrates Kipling’s observation, once you pay the Danegeld, you never get rid of the Dane. There is no amount of money that will make Jesse Jackson and his ilk go away.

Don’t you just love it? Jesse Jackson is true to his psychopathology. That particular London Mayor has been an idiot time after time.

Jackson got Red Ken to blubber an apology, so what better time to further guilt-trip the Brits into throwing some money his way? Elites being the spineless weasels that they are, there’s a good chance he might get something out of them.

Somehow she's still luuuuved by the nation, ugh.

Is anyone apologizing to Webster who continuously spins in his grave while Clinton cons with “it depends on what the definition of ‘is’ is” and Jesse cons with “it depends on what the definition of ‘extortion’ is”...while their lawyers rack up huge fees!

Anyone reading Horowitiz’s article can detect (if he or she wishes) the logic and validity of his arguments, but those who want reparations are not going to be persuaded to abandon their claims no matter how logical or valid the arguments against such a foolish idea.
Attempts to reason will result in endless debate that will satisfy neither side.
This is an emotional matter that can only be disposed of by a firm and repeated “no”.

"Which college is it that's giving free tutition to anyone who can prove their ancestors were African slaves?" How about we just offer them jobs? That ought to put an end to this nonsense.

The race grievance industry has been very, very good for Jesse. He’s made a fortune through using it.

yep, the way these people like Jackson act, it’s as if slavery was just done away with last year. This whole slavery reparations movement is a scam in my opinion. A small minority of people ever owned slaves, and everyone who ever owned a slave or was held as a slave is dead. So reparations can’t be paid to anyone who was a slave.
And to talk about the legacy of slavery as a root cause of the problems of poor black people today is laughable.
Will anyone ever call Jackson on this nonsense? Or will everyone he deals with be afraid of him and bow at the altar of Political Correctness in dealing with him?
To: mtbopfuyn
"Oprah made the whites in her audience stand up and apologize for slavery when she did a segment on Thomas Jefferson and Sally Heming's decendants. " Did she then make the blacks stand up and apologize for the high crime rates for blacks and for 75% of all black males being in prison for committing crimes and for narcotic welfare, and for 30 years of rap music?
