BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The U.S. military on Saturday said coalition forces south of Baghdad found a site where people were executed and bodies dumped.

The discovery was made during an operation Tuesday through Thursday in the Arab Jabour area, a region where al Qaeda in Iraq has a presence.

"The ground forces found human skulls, decomposing bodies and bones wrapped in bloody clothes," the military said in a statement.

"Wild dogs were rampant around the area, which was characterized by a crater where most of the human remains were dumped. Inside a nearby building, the ground forces found blood spatter and other signs indicating executions had taken place there."

Troops, helped by local Iraqis, also found a building thought to be a car bomb factory, the military said.

"Inside the compound, the ground forces found numerous items used to make and mix homemade explosives for use in car bombs. An airstrike destroyed the explosives cache."

Insurgents fired at the arriving troops, who returned fire and killed one of them, the military said. Eight people suspected of terror activities and al Qaeda in Iraq connections were detained.

From the article:

In western Baghdad, troops conducted a pre-dawn raid targeting a bombmaker who was using a Red Crescent facility.

The Red Crescent is a front. It's nothing like the Red Cross.

Red Crescent ambulance, also known as Hamas personal carrier in Gaza.

We treated every single Red Crescent “ambulance” with a high level of suspicion. How many ambulances do you know of have been found with AK’s and RPG’s in the back? We found plenty.

We found plenty.

That's a favorite trick of Hamas in the WB and Gaza. They've found pregnant women hiding bomb belts in Red Crescent ambulances there.

If it were up to me I'd make it SOP to incinerate anything with a Red Crescent on it anywhere in Iraq.

But that's just me.

Interesting part of the article that I just now really got a grasp of,

“The U.S. military also announced the Wednesday arrest in northern Arab Jabour of a man described as a foreign fighter who heads a car-bombing cell network.
The man, who was not named, is an Egyptian-born militant who came to Iraq in the early 1980s and later joined al Qaeda fighters, the military said.
“He has Iraqi citizenship and [is] believed to be a former high-ranking official of the Baath party during Saddam Hussein’s reign,” the military said.”

"In western Baghdad, troops conducted a pre-dawn raid targeting a bombmaker who was using a Red Crescent facility. "Coalition forces took great care to protect the facility's resources before determining the building was secure and leaving," the U.S. military said."

HUH?? What, a terrorist bombmaker was simply 'using' the Red Crescent building with no knowledge or involvement from anyone else??? Yeah, right, like your average terrorist bombmaker can just walk in off the street and set up shop in a Red Crescent 'facility' without anyone knowing or caring what he was doing???? This stinks to high heaven.

And what about the total lack of insight and curiosity by CNN's liberal so-called journalists?? This is a HUGE issue (HUGH and SERIOUS) to have terrorist bomb-making operated from a supposedly pristine and charitable Red Crescent facility, and yet the article buries the lede many paragraphs down.

This just can’t be so toby....there were no AQ in Iraq until we got there doncha know. This will be ignored by the propagandists in the “mainstream” media. Perhaps President Bush will bring it up next week when he gives another speech about Iraq. We can hope so anyway.

The Red Crescent is a front. It's nothing like the Red Cross.

Unfortunately, the Red Crescent is part of the International Red Cross, and receives a great deal of funding from the International Red Cross.

IIRC; The Red Cross' ambulances have been caught acting as taxis for Palestinian terrorists in Israel. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I’ll support The Salvation Army, thank you.
