But with Independents and "Reagan" Democrats, Rudy is going to be hard to beat.

Reagan Democrats are generally Southern social conservatives. Giuliani is Northeastern social liberal.

On the one issue of our times he is Dead On. I am pro-life, but if there isn’t a pro-life candidate to vote for, I will vote for the one who is willing to fight for America.

Pray for W and Our Troops

“My sense right now is that Hillary beats Thompson the way her husband beat Bob Dole.”

Exactly how I feel. I like Fred but lets face it... He’s a boring old white male. We are not going to get the moderate demo woman crossing over to vote for him.
You want a real conservative as President? Well first you have to convert a majority of Americans who have been brainwashed by a liberal media their whole lives. We are not there yet! Bush won the last 2 times because THEY ran boring white males.

PA is loaded with “Reagan Democrats.” They are often referred to as pro-life, gun-toting Socialists. Given no choice on the first two issues, they don’t crossover; they vote straight ticket BIG “D.” WV and OH are the same. Trafficant made them all swoon, and was the ideal, Congress critter for all of them. None of them gave a darn how much he ripped off, or if he was mobbed up.

Are you discounting prostate cancer or was that just a minor detail?

Prostate cancer is curable if detected early. John Kerry also had it and it didn't stop him from running.

Sorry, but unlike you and a few other of the spoiled brats on this forum who would rather stay home and let Clinton win and ruin the Nation (boy, that’l teach us to nominate someone who is not PERFECT in every way!!!)most Republicans will do what is right and best for the country NOW.

Rudy has to win the primaries first, you know, where the spoiled brats make the difference.

Rudy Giuliani has his shortcomings, but his accomplishments are undeniable. As Mayor, he achieved conservative results in the most unlikely of places. And his attempts to mollify conservatives may be paying off.

Quoted for truth.

I’d rather support Paul than Rudy, that’s for sure.

"He’s a boring old white male."

And Rudy isn't? At least most people think Fred is a NICE old boring white male, while Rudy is regarded as a MEAN SOB, boring old white male.

His traction will last until Fred officially gets in the race. At that point, there will be a long slow slide into oblivian.

Rudy is a boring old white male too - that sometimes dresses as a woman.

A cross-dresser in the Whitehouse? You're right, that's not as boring as a regular family guy.

I won't stay home on election day if Rudy is the nominee, but I won't be voting for him. You can kiss the republican party goodbye at that point.

That may happen, especially if the spoiled brats in our Party decide to take their football and go home and sulk because they didn't get their “perfect” candidate.

If you are one of them then be prepared to take full responsibility for what befalls America because of your selfish attitude.

Í was speaking of the primaries as well as the general election. I fully expect the majority the brats to stay home even if he does manage to win the nomination.

A week or two ago, someone posted a perfect list (with back-up links, I think) for every reason not to vote for Rudi. I have searched everywhere, and can’t find it.

If anyone can remember it, could you post it here or FRmail it to me, please? I want to email it to a couple of fence sitters. Thanks!

Let’s face it, the republicans have blown it so many times. I’ve been a party member for over 30 years & I’ve worked hard for the party. I had my hopes up that once we were in control, that things would really change.

They haven’t, in fact, all I’m seeing is the same old politics as usual. For some reason, these idiots think we need to become more liberal to win elections & that’s why we lost the last time around. I’ve about had it with them. If a majority of people in my party want Rudy Guiliani as their leader, then it’s not going to be the party for me anymore.

I’m very disillusioned right now. I like Duncan Hunter, but I realize he’s not getting traction. I could happily support Fred Thompson, even Mitt Romney if I had to. But Rudy is an unapologetic liberal. I truly cannot stand the man.

Yes, probably the Republican nominee will be Thompson or Romney. But, almost as likely, they could divide conservatives in major state primaries, throwing the victories to Giuliani.
