CONCORD, N.H. -- Democratic rivals criticized Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday for her comment that a terror attack before the election would help the Republicans.
On Thursday, the New York senator told supporters in Concord that she could defeat any Republican nominee, in part because she already knows how her opponents will go after her and because she is good at handling the unexpected.

Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd said in his own statement, "Frankly, I find it tasteless to discuss political implications when talking about a potential terrorist attack on the United States."

RATS in a catfight - get the popcorn. I do think Chris Dodd's statement is an application of the stopped clock theory.

Is it possible that this issue is going to put the Rats between a rock and a hard place (ie, needing to pander to their liberal base on the war in the primary, then needing to court votes from the rest of America in the general election)?

More like a ratfight. They seem to be getting themselves into a lot of those lately. The candidates are all attacking each other, liberals supporters are slamming the Dems who back the surge...the party’s gonna collapse in the next election.

I certainly hope you are right. With the kind of leadership they have in both houses of Congress it should come as no surprise that the party is unraveling. Neither Pelosi nor Reid can even spell the word much less practice it. Their approval ratings are proof positive of that.

I think Hillary stepped in the rather obvious doodoo. She is actually right in what she said, she has the cojones other Dems lack and I think would at least respond to a terrorist attack BEFORE going to the UN. That said, she’s been playing both sides of the fence and now is payback time.

Democrats.......hmmm, taste like chicken!

Hillary only spoke what is on her, and every other democrat candidates mind, the fact that they are MORE interested in their political prospects and power than they are in the safety of our nation and it’s people.
They were all thinking the the exact same thing.
Hillary is just so sure of herself and the FACT that she will be elected, that she just started thinking out loud.

Hillary figures she’s got the nomination locked up. She’s taken the lead as Barack Hussein Osama self-detructed so she can dance back to the middle. Comments like these set the political rationale for talking tough on terrorism in the general campaign. She knows the Kool-Aid drinkers will vote for her anyway so they can keep killing babies. What she needs to do for the general election is prove she can be tough enough on defense that swing voters won’t that issue as a deal-breaker. At least that’s what Karl Rove told me while he was working the weather machine.

Just "tasteless"? It's despicable, yet predictable that Hillary is only concerned about how an attack may hurt her political ambitions and we all know she doesn't care about it any further than that.

Whoa, the long knives come out! Back in the Nineties, it was common knowledge that Slick's every move was calculated to maintain or increase his approval numbers, with Carville in the War Room continuing the perpetual campaign. The Democrats I knew LOVED that about Slick! Now the Shrew's rivals are attacking her for the very thing every Democrat cheered on Slick for. He just never came out and said it so boldly like that. Things are getting nasty in Demland.
What a telling statement. To only think of a terrorist attack in terms of the advantage it could give to Republicans! Making her fellow countrymen her worst enemies. These people need to be defeated ONCE AND FOR ALL!
