Not Too Long Now, Says The Fred (Thompson Lays Out Schedule To Run)

A round of applause, please, for former Virginia Sen. George Allen, who finally got likely GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson to hint when he plans his big announcement. Filling in for Richmond's WRVA morning host Jimmy Barrett, Allen just came out with it, asking the Law & Order star what's up.
Said the Fred, who's been testing the political waters: "Well, the water is pretty warm. I like the temperature a lot." He also told Allen, "It won't be very many more days" before he declares.
During the five-minute chat, Thompson addressed the complaints that he is taking too long to make up his mind.
"This is not an attempt to be cute or game the system," he promised. Thompson said instead that he's just working on more of an old school schedule, when candidates didn't announce until the fall before the election year.
And he said that running for president isn't something he's planned all his life. "I'm doing in a few months what people have taken a long, long time period to do," he said.

Heres your official preview of a FRed presidency, folks. Four long, tedious, weary years of the top dog waiting to decide whether to decide to decide. And then waiting a little longer That's probably pretty close to accurate...

Uhm, Asparagus this is a Fred Republic forum if you haven’t noticed. Of course everything Fred does is genius.
Oh wait, I just noticed the site is Free Republic. Anyway, jokes aside, I would love for nothing more than a Duncan Hunter Presidency myself, but I’m watching Fred’s positions (namely illegal immigration). I could be swayed by him if he takes the right stands.

It takes most of us about two seconds to test the water temperature. It takes Fred six months. Maybe more. We've heard the rumors of the upcoming announcement any minute now for months. It's become a joke. No, it will be three months on Sep. 5th that Fred is Testing the Waters and not the "six months" that you wrongly claim.
It took Rudy three months of Testing the Waters before he announced. I believe Huckabee was in the Testing the Waters phase for half a year. I would have to find out how long it took Mitt.
Anyway, your post is a joke. It reminds me of some of the trash posts back in the Spring that you were on your high horse about.

Hes not going to appear via sattelite in a Lazy-Boy, is he? Cuz if he did, that would be the best move. We like Fred to keep it real. Maybe he shouldnt even appear but send a video answer to all the questions. Better yet, he should have an intern answer the questions for him, because we wouldnt want Fred to work too hard. Long live the Fred! Speaking of keeping it "real", your post is hardcore leftwing propaganda.

So go back to boot licking for your favorite made up for TV political star. Better a slow starter than one who plays a customized tune for each audience they appear before and then governs by “their” conscience rather than the will of the people. With the exception of the WOT that’s what we got from GW and even the WOT has been reduced in large part to strict rules of engagement rather than a fight for our lives. I want someone who has the ability to think these problems through and not a “rock star” elected because he has “executive hair” or high recognition in the media. Right now FDT seems to have what the other posers do not — genuineness.

Fred was “testing the water” long before he formed his exploratory campaign committee. You can attempt to rewrite history if you like, but your post is a joke.

No, it is you who is attempting to rewrite history by saying that Fred was Testing the Waters before June 4th 2007.
Or are you now trying to move the goal posts and claim that Fred was considering a run three months before his Testing the Waters phase and somehow that's different than Rudy who was considering a run way before his Testing the Waters phase began on Nov. 22, 2006.
Your response is pathetic. As I said, it reminds me of those mindless posts back in the Spring.
